I wonder if kids today believe dinosaurs were around with our prehistoric ancestors like my generation did (at least when we were very young) based on old movies and television shows we saw.

It wasn't until a How and Why Wonder Book I got when I was about 8 that I realized the "terrible lizards" were gone millions of years before.

Unfortunately, there are lots of kids and adults who still believe humans and dinosaurs coexisted. There's a church a block from my office that's part of this subculture. A quick Google turned up these:

https://answersingenesis.org/dinosaurs/humans/ - "There are many references to historical evidence of dinosaurs and man living together..."

https://www.icr.org/men-dinosaurs/ - "... the available evidence shows that man and dinosaur coexisted."

https://www.express.co.uk/news/scien...ism-COVERED-UP - "... humans and dinosaurs shared Earth at one point, and the latter was eventually wiped out by the great flood."

My parents used to get me the How and Why Wonder Book series when I was little, seeing I was the most scientifically-minded among us. They're still on my shelf after all these years.

I used to have a huge stack of those, but I think we passed them on to a younger cousin or something at some point. Great stuff.

I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.
