Default Where to start with Teen Titians

I'm a huge fan of both Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go TV shows but, I've never read a Teen Titans comic. What should I read to get a grasp on the franchise?

Teen Titans: A Kid's Game by Geoff Johns is a great place to start. If your interested in the classic Wolfman/Perez team, a Volume 1 trade is coming out in September. If youwant something current, the latest series just started with a new number 1. It is by Will Pfeiffer and.

You always start with Wolfman and Perezs run.

Don't read Geoff Johns till after Wolfman and Perez trust me.
New Teen Titans is the definitive and iconic Teen Titans run. This is the run that influenced the cartoon. After you read it you will see.

Well some people (including me) don't like much stuff from the 80's. If you dont mind that (OP) go ahead. Judas contract is one of the most famous stories ever told.

Never read the New 52 team, for a start.

Start with the New Teen Titans because that's kinda close to the show.
I wasn't a huge fan of John's run because of his retcons he made to things that happened with the previous team and I'm just not a huge fan of Tim's gen of heroes.

The fun begins with the team's inception in (I think) the 1960's.
The best Titans stories EVER written and drawn: Wolfman/Perez beginning in the 80's.
But the most important question isn't when to start; it's when to stop. When Perez leaves Titans it's a good sign it's about to go to hell.
Come back for Geoff Johns (great run too though I agree with the above poster - I don't dig the Tim/Bart/Kon-El/Cassie lineup) and when he's gone go back to the cartoons and wait for DC to figure out what they even want to do with TT anymore.
The new 52 TT has been unreadable.

Does Teen Titans have an ongoing continuity from pre-crisis to post-crisis? Or is it a complete reboot? I'm thinking about picking up Teen Titans as well.

It's relatively the same, though Donna Troy became a major point of confusion in the post-Crisis era.
