Default DC stories that take place on Christmas Eve.

In the spirit of the season, I thought I'd look back at stories that take place on Christmas Eve. One that immediately comes to mind is the original Infinity Inc. miniseries from 1983. The JSA has an emergency meeting on Christmas Eve when the younger heroes burst in. Christmas doesn't really play a role in the story itself, it just happened to take place then. I know there are plenty of Superman stories where he helps people that come to mind. Like Adventures of Superman #462 and the Dave Gibbons and Steve Rude Worlds Finest miniseries. Any Christmas Eve stories that come to mind for you?

Lots to love here. An early story about sexual harassment. A reasonable Superman/Geo-Force throwdown that neither jobs nor Marty Stus anybody. Batman being Batman by keeping his eyes on both main problems simultaneously. Clear indication that (at least some of) The Outsiders aren't your usual DC "We're Better Than That" superheroes. Undoing a cliche couple idea. Multiple characters dealing with The Holiday Blues. And, appropriate to the season, a resolution with a sense of hope.

Seems like there was a Swamp Thing issue with a tale of cajun Santa Claus back in the day. If I recall it correctly, at least part of that story takes place on Christmas Eve.

Superman 64 & 76 - Metropolis Mailbag 1 & 2. The first one features Superman responding to letters sent to him over the Christmas period and the second is the Justice League taking up the tradition after the Death of Superman saga

Christmas with the Superheroes was a 2 issue anthology of Christmas themed stories in 1988 & 1989

The most famous story from it being an 8 page Enemy Ace story called "Silent Night" http://comicmaniaforever.blogspot.co...e-by-john.html

Justice League Unlimited 28 - The Phantom Stranger shows the Flash why Batman is more withdrawn than usual at Christmas

The second appearance of Green Lantern John Stewart was in "The Man Who Murdered Santa Claus," JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA 110 (March-April 1974), on sale December 6, 1973--by Len Wein, Dick Dilin and Dick Giordano. A pretty darn good comic book.

Enemy Ace is one of those characters that I found uncomfortable to read the first few issues I ever saw (I own the archives). But once you see what the focus of the stories really is, they're such incredible tales about a genuine "anti-hero". And that "Silent Night" story captures it perfectly.

Great thread. Can others have some suggestions? Those two DC Christmas Specials that were done in the eighties or nineties were terrific. DC should release a second trade paperback collection with these stories.

Excellent pick. I'd forgotten just how much stuff went down in there until I read your synopsis. That's a jam-packed 20-odd pages that didn't feel rushed.
