I think this image really sums up what Venom is all about. On the right is the face of a brain-eating space monster whose kin were once the predatory servants of a dark god but who now is taking a different path, and on the right, we see Eddie Brock who is human yet who is completely one with the symbiote, and in some ways, is even more terrifying:
