    The best superhero deconstructions tend to happen in long-running series, either comicbook or TV. A movie doesn't really have the time needed to do a proper deconstruction/reconstruction. So attempts tend to just, in practice, be the heroes acting like assholes.

    I'm not sure you can deconstruct superheroes in the 21st century without concluding that they're an anachronism.

    Their continued popularity is fueled by a culture of perpetual nostalgia, a need for respite from the seemingly unmanageable chaos of the modern world, and a global appeal (which ironically hints at grand narrative).

    Any enjoyable deconstruction at this point would be specific to the property involved and lack much meaning outside of a self-conscious ridicule of the minutiae of the property.
