Absolutely. I really am fed up with the doofus looking Superman that is a klutz as Clark. Unfortunately DC seems to be stuck in the 70ties in terms of the look. New 52 Superman had tons of sex appeal and this one is very reminiscent of him. I love how Diana is drawn by Lima too. Beautiful and athletic looking.

Apparently we'll see the origin of one of our Superman, the origin of the father of Lara and Jon, and even if Diana does not appear now, opens a huge gate for a second volume perhaps telling the beginning of their relationship. Wow Diana written again by Azzarello would be a dream, he managed to create a strong Diana, hard, without stoning, and at the same time pure heart like Perez's Diana, she is just not naive or idiot! Very interesting.

It is no secret or a random comment that DC is losing positions in sales rankings because Rebirth is a sales failure, numbers do not lie or are purposely negative, so if DC wants to recover space must open their mind and give to us full access to the multiverse, and it's also no secret that Millerverse is an absolute sales success ... Lara, Jon (the interesting son of SM and WW) are new characters with endless possibilities ahead, including bringing new readers. Bringing Millerverse on a frequent basis would please new readers, new smart readers eager for bold and creative stories and SMWW fans.

Oh my. Well finally we get something concrete and I am so happy this Superman is its own AU and not Rebirth's. And of course as with anything DC can pick and choose elements they want...most origins are like this anyway. But fact that it is its own thing and not something the Rebirth verse can come say like new 52...well you all did the hard work and built a Superman...we will just pilfer it and cut out what we want...ie the smww history...and pretend he is ours. When it is clear he could not be given Rebirth's timeline and events. I wonder if Frank at the sign of push back against Diana, ( it is his hard work what he has done so far building his DK verse) stood his ground and they had to accommodate and say...okay this is your Year One. Because there seems to be some change. At first seems like DC wanted this for their canon. I want to see Diana too and this Clark interact eventually and I would love Azzarello doing a Year One DK WW too.

The best thing here is, being DK Superman, means we already know his future, his family and that he is in peace and happy with this... if Azzarello (with Frank or not) do a WW YO we will have possibly the strongest Trinity of all time (strong in power and personality).

No one will deny the “controversy” in regards to new52. The Amazons may have been overboard... but so what? It was a bit of realism put into it, it was about redemption. But exactly, Diana herself was still herself, being confident, wise, strong, mature, she actually had personality, kind but wasn’t a pushover.

I think the main thing was DC trying to go the one option route. Rehashing things, and even if it was outside main continuity it still had that feel of sameness. Everything now thrives on diversity and uniqueness. DC needs to be more open to that. Millerverse, controversial but entertaining, this is what the audiences look for and how you get people talking.

SMWW is a concept that has shown how multilayered it is and can be if given the thought and effort by the creative teams. Effortlessly, the concept captured the wider general audience, whether they read comics or not, or sometimes.

That's weird because Miller said the opposite around 6 months ago. There must have been a last-minute change. 🤔

I'm start thinking that internally there is/was confusion/indecision about what this book is supposed to be like for SM: Birthright 15+ years ago.

I guess it'll be the 3rd and final part to really show if and how it's tied to the DKverse based on the kind of role Diana will play in Clark's life after they'll meet. What we know so far about the first 2 issues has anything specifically related to
the DKverse (at least according the reviewers).
