I want a scene of Clark and Diana just flying free and unfettered like the two birds that they are. Showing them flying over fields, mountains, diving into the oceans, soaring above the clouds, weaving in canyons over meandering rivers and over lakes and linking hands, breaking, twirling, somersaulting, laughing, playful, happy, just cutting lose. Imagine all the flight scenes you have seen and the emotion they engender (MOS, Astrocity without the nudity, Aladdin, Avatar) yet distilled into these moments of sheer joy and with it their love for each other and reverence for the earth they love is shown. They dive and frolic with flocks of birds, they leap with dolphins. Diana has animal empathy I can see birds allowing them to do this or the dolphins making way for them. Nothing can amaze someone like Clark because he has seen a lot but this can. DC has two character that can do this easily...that makes sense...yet we do not ever see this. We see other characters do this in other franchises. They get carried or have to be given powers or use a flying creature or carpet. And you need a sweeping romantic epic theme to accompany them. DC has got these two beautiful majestic gold, red and blue souls that should soar and they insist they need grounding. smh.

Ugh! I want all of this!

I don't know about other people but when I read books as a child, and teenager I was attracted to the fantastical, mythical etc. I recalled when I saw WW for the first time with Lynda Carter, saw the Super Friends and read about Elves and Fairies, was introduced to Jedi and all sorts of powerful characters like wizards, witches, genies, Gods from different Pantheons, I never once thought...boy I want to ground them and I want them be like me and live like me in the mundane world I did. I dreamed of leaping and flying and twirling a light saber and using the force or moving objects with my mind. I never saw the sorceresses or princes or mermaid as lacking in feeling and emotions and not having challenges and needing to grow. Hell I wanted to be like them! I did not want to me in that who doesn't as a kid want to fly or cast spells or speak to animals???! When I read as an adult I can also empathize with different beings. I am not so blinkered and my mind so narrow I cannot work out what is fantasy or reality and that whether a work is fantastical or reality based...I can still connect with characters no matter where they are from. Trying to cut smww down, repress them to fit one mold than allowing them to be epic and expansive is like putting birds in a cage imo and clipping their wings.

Good lord, no one watching Lord of the Rings thinks Elves and Hobbits can't love or have the same emotional journey humans have or Star Wars wants Luke to stay on Tatooine and marry a girl there and raise kids in the desert or depending on the version, he should never have married Mara Jade but only been with someone regular else he could not be a hero. Clark and Diana are as humane as any good being, even not being human, ...it was never about race or power...but their innate goodness and compassion, nurturing and experiences . Humans are not all amazing. They can be truly evil when they want to be yet DC wants to suggest their dna do not hold them back from being great...they can do anything, go to space, rule kingdoms, marry up, inspire aliens, even police them etc but outsiders cannot because of their dna???. It is lazy , myopic writers who do this.

And that's literally the point of these two! They are 2 of the most powerful beings in the world, yet their compassion and empathy humanizes them far more than humans. They are more human than humans themselves. Why this gets forgotten or twisted is beyond me.

Superheroes were created to be aspirational. Had a strong moral center, were selfless and were truly heroic. So much of that is now lost in a push to darken them. It seems to be due to an inability by some to understand that yes, in real life people do go through hard times, experience tragedies that may bring you down for a bit, but the distinguishing quality is how a person responds in the face of adversity. It's the fine line between refusing to stay down and therefore building resilience or being drowned by the pressure. And resiliency is more than just building an extra layer of tough skin, it is the ability to still look for the light at the end of the tunnel in the midst of the storm, not losing hope because you recognize that once you lose hope you lose the will to push forward.

Many studies have shown that there is a significant link between optimistic and health. More optimistic people tend to be healthier than pessimistic people.

It is this optimistic quality that made SMWW such admirable characters. They've faced some of the most horrific and dehumanizing circumstances, yet, they still choose to see the best in people. They've been mocked and ridiculed, experienced loses and tragedies themselves yet they continue on not losing the qualities that made them aspirational, hopeful characters they were. Those are the qualities to promote, yet it gets subverted for something twisted.

I think the reason why this is being twisted because of the amount of effort and creativity it takes to truly convey how extraordinary these characters are yet so aspirational and relatable. It’s very complexed but they are looked upon in a superficial sense.

However this mindset is so contradicting when they make and put human characters on the level of Superman and Wonder Woman. Because certain writers don’t understand the complexity, it’s easier for them to strip away certain aspects, set limitations etc.

Such a beautiful scene description, Hellacre! That’s exactly what we should see from Kal and Diana. Sort of like when they raced in the storm in the sensation comics issue, I think 48.
Unfortunately, Superman and Wonder Woman are caged birds. The extraordinary life they are suppose to embrace and relish in is too difficult, too different for some to understand.
