SM and WW have a "baggage" that these analogues don't have as they were this way since their creation and didn't took them decades of development to be connected.

The “baggage” is unnecessary and can easily be let go of. 🙄 Or you know just use the multiverse as they should.

Clark Kent of course gets love too! LOL And DCEU SMWW! Ah, DC is really missing a huge opportunity. How Marvel thought to promote Captain Marvel, is what DC shouldve thought of. There is so much love for SMWW as individual charcters and together. Can’t believe it’s so hard to see this revelation.

Astro City is an anthology series started in the the 90s that features characters inspired by the archetypes of Marvel and DC. Samaritan and Winged Victory (the SM and WW analogues of the series) became a couple at the beginning of the saga.

There is a series of Astro City that will be out soon?

It's an anthology that focus on different characters. SM/WW fans should check these issues (quoted from a previous thread):

"SM/WW fans, if interested, should check out Astro City's 1st miniseries (mainly issues 1, 4, 6) published by Image Comics in 1995 and the issues 7/10 and 26 of the latest Astro City series published by DC/Vertigo in 2013."

I'm going to try to see it, out of curiosity Samaritan and Winged Victory are still together in the current stories or have they already been separated like the majority of couples in the comics?

wow this show looks interesting, is curious but as with Diana and Kal these "SM and WW" are usually very close.
So here we have Namor as Aquaman and Steve Rogers as SM? huh

I have to say that I love costumes, they are really better than those that other characters have in other movies ... if I'm talking about you Fox and your X-men!

This is beautiful! Last day of Carnival but the celebration of love, joy, and togetherness continues on! It’s very motivational and inspiring seeing diversity being embraced in such a huge way by the people. We need more of this in the world.

Him and his wife fit in the same category of SM/WW fans of the couple of collectors we talked about yesterday. Both love (and follow) the characters also individually and share their SM/WW passion with their partners.



Another writer I would consider is Kurt Busiek. He wrote the SM/WW analogues in Astro City but also a SM issue feat. WW in 2007.

See I am not sure of Busiek. I am very iffy on him because but he can write the friendship okay as I saw in some appearances Diana made in his Superman run. His Trinity series was not good at all and I felt he was off in Diana's characterization. I just cannot understand the inconsistency with some writers.

I would include Mark Waid on your list, I really liked how he showed Diana and Clark's relationship in KC, I know he gave some controversial interviews about SMWW but I'd rather pay attention to what he wrote.

Oh yes I forgot Waid. KC aside...he does get their close bond. Least it felt that way in his JLA run. Waid is a writer I feel is swayed by being made to feel guilty by some fans who are stuck on tradition rather than accept he was involved in one of the best stories ever written and the themes he brought in was relevant and still are and smww relationship was one of equals. It is AU and things changed and that was the point and WW is not some doe eyed Disney Princess wanting to hug and cry and screech love all the time. She is an experienced warrior , hardened by time, loss and changing world...just like Batman changed and Clark changed. The world moved on, and events took place and had real consequences unlike canon where nothing changes and if it changes it is absurd retcons and aging up or down or just getting immortality without earning a bit of it. Superman rarely LIVES life and experiences what humans do and what makes us truly human...flaws, loss, highs with lows and having to come to terms that life is hard and we have to face so many changes including loss etc etc yet there is this absurd he is so human conceit when his privileged life is nothing but. In KC however he does live WITH humanity with Diana and his family and weathers the changes in a very real and genuine way.

I believe that saying Superman is “human” sometimes comes by the superficial aspects of things. Pretending with what is supposedly the “American way” is not actually living and being what’s accepted as human.
