It is post like these, like what LoveStar stated that continue to exemplify the true essence of SMWW.

Despite the contrivances and plot armor given to a particular character in cheap attempts at elevation that it rings false and hallow. People outside the small pandering niche that DC has built in the name of status quo recognize and gravitate towards the genuine essence of SMWW. It is heartwarming to see. A direct counter response to the ugliness that DC attempted to turn SMWW into in its insipid move to undermine and discredit them. You can't sweep a whole history under the rug as if people aren't able to find it and determine for themselves. Neither can you prop up one pairing that has been filled with Many pitfalls and questionable acts in the length of its existence as better. Quality counts for something. It's not just about quantity. We see it over and over again with SMWW when they are represented accurately and respectfully. It's no surprise the general audience responds so well to them.

You have the general audience with a POSITIVE reception to Superman and Wonder Woman as individuals and a couple. From being symbolic representation for social issues to reprensenting couples and families. Why not instead of holding on to limitations of or for a niche, embrace this and expand. DC wants to expand, wants to reach and tap into the diverse audience, as Hellacre has said, they end up shying away and rejecting the diverse audience, going by what the think is diversity instead of what actually is.

I don't know that I buy into the idea that DC actually wants to 'tap into diverse audience.' For some, especially the disingenuous, "diversity" becomes a buzzword that gets bounced around to appear progressive. No real meaningful attempts made. The truth of it shows in the narratives pushed and the ones subverted. DC has had ample opportunity to really tell meaningful stories that would resonate with all, especially reaching a much broader audience when it started the DCEU, however, through their acts and inactions it shows what they really care about.

However, as previously stated we see what wider audiences respond to. The things we have said about SMWW is validated and confirmed over and over again when they are represented and showcased in other media and platforms and that is gratifying. No matter how much DC tries to say that "Up is down," and "Right is wrong," their obvious manipulative attempts have continued to fail. For that I will continue to be grateful for this SMWW appreciation thread.

As for me, I like to be captivated on an emotional, intellectual and psychological/philosophical level. SMWW used to represent that. Now we're just inundated with mawkish, cloying, pandering, superficial, insipid storylines and that's telling in and of itself.

“Diversity” in their terms does come off meaningless and a bit contradicting, especially when it comes to Superman and Wonder Woman. You have moments of acknowledging “Sun God” in his own right/ “Alien” from another planet and the “Daughter of Zeus”, however it’s become frequent that Superman questions/rejects his otherness and Wonder Woman is wrong or too hard to understand because of her otherness. Superman and Wonder Woman should be exploring, interacting, learning, understanding and embracing different cultures from all over the world not stuck in and praising/embracing one country. We don’t see this at all. Its a lot of talk though. This is why they are never fully connected because of all the telling but not showing. We have seen the potential and evolving development of them as both best friends and a couple, that’s why the general audience connects with the pair.

That superficial mindset can only last for so long if at all. It’s time to really change these narrow minded views.

DC couldn't reach a wider audience even if they'd want to and it's just stuck with the shrinking comic-books audience. That's why I think that is up to the bigger company WB to embrace SM/WW next.
