Yep. That’s what I was referring to. They tried but it just came off as forced and hollow. Even rebirth first meeting was diluted 🤣

It wasn't in line with their previous first meetings, sadly. Hope we'll get from Year One something closer to the "classics".

Real character and relationship development is of a solid foundation and constant building. SMWW isn’t the kind that just starts from somewhere random. It’s starts from the very beginning. If it’s not from that actual starting point, whatever follows won’t sit right.

Here the problem is the way DC handles its continuity, it's not just SM/WW.

I don’t know...what’s defined as “classic” now isn’t even much of classic, it’s more what a writer prefers rewriting the “classics” to fit their particular view.

Here the problem is the way DC handles its continuity, it's not just SM/WW.

Yeah, I know the problem goes beyond SMWW and with that, just need to get it all together. It’s all a domino effect.

Rebooting/debooting/retconning clearly just makes things messier. The only way is to have the multiverse again that will give room and respect for the shared history. It seems having that is what makes these characters thrive more than what they have now as a singular view.

Well yes indeed! There could’ve or could be a DC/WB and Netflix or HBO partnership. If Astro City and Jupiter Legacy are hits, all the more reason for the idea of KC adaptation or something to be set in motion.
