Yeah, it was a subplot in both Johns' JL and Soule' SM/WW but it was abandoned right after its set up. 🤨 The only thing that was done with it was Amanda Waller creating her own JLA for fear of SM/WW having a baby or something. 😂 Do you remember it?

It’s like with everything, set up just to abandon the ideas or back pedal. Why??? These are the stories that will obviously get the audience attention. That will actually bring change and affect the wider DCU.

This is true. The ideas are there. It won’t be the exact thread picked up, but the idea of it is there and possible for future writers to actually take on the challenge.

SMWW are not just a couple on comic books, they are a thought, they are the ideal that couples crave ... they are already beyond the boundaries of comics, fiction.

Yep! From all we have seen, SMWW goes beyond comics and have become so deeply connected with families, couples, and individuals becoming also a “mindset”.

the idea of a child daughter of such a couple, with these levels of power, would scare everyone ... is a fine line of narrative.

Yes ... so it's extremely counterproductive what DC is doing, really bordering on imbecility. All this effort to erase, demean, and weaken the SMWW concept is being exhausting and causing almost irreversible damage to WW. People who do not follow comics do not care what is happening in them, they continue to like SMWW together, children see their parents as SMWW, lovers see their comrades as SMWW so what DC does in their comics besides not only affect in reality (just see the increase in sales when SMWW are treated with respect and put together) ... SMWW will always be there to bring in extra profits for DC, see GC, DK Millerverse, Kingdom Come and various elseworld , but I believe that one day DC will realize that the Multiverse, where SMWW will be a frequent publication, could sell even more than the main Earth.

SMWW is here to stay. I imagine while DC struggle to sell a SM or WW comic in the US market...these tees and all the other merch you all have shared, is making a lot more money.

Not surprisingly, nowadays, both of them individually are valued more as symbols to sell merchandise than as actual characters. This is reflected in a certain way on them also as a pair.

I'll never understand why the DC Office does not authorize official mass-produced couples merchandise for the pair considering how popular SMWW couples cosplay and SMWW themed weddings are. It is like leaving a rich vein of easily accessible oil or gold untapped. I know they have a hardon for Clois but c'mon this a no-brainer especially for a struggling industry (the comic books themselves).

It goes against what they are/were pushing in the comics and the semi-deceased DCEU or they would still be promoting it as in 2012.

Has there ever been any precedent for something like this? I don't think that the regular audience that reads comic-books is interested in following ongoing out-of-continuity series. Especially anthologies.
