Grampá can't give spoilers but he calls Jon lovely because at 6/7 years of age he wants to change the world. The interviewer asked will Jon already have this conscience to fight for what he believes, at the age of 6 or 7 years? Grampá replied that Jon is the son of a Kryptonian and an Amazon, he really is a little Buddha.
Miller gave him all the freedom, even able to suggest scenes. It seems like the whole DK saga was built for this moment. In Golden Child, Miller wants to tell the story of Jon. They have been working on it for 4 years. And it is violent and deeply connected to the moment the world lives, this "waking up" of youth. Jon, the son of SM and WW is the star of this story!

Great answer! Jonathan is born from Clark and Diana and coming from two rich heritages. I recall we've always talked about the offspring of SMWW and what that could entail. We always talked about the powers in terms of their physicality. This looks at his mind, re intellect and thought processes and it coming in from a young age well makes sense thb. We see child prodigies as young as 2 or 3 in the real world, so why wouldn't the son of a Kryptonian and Amazon not develop rapidly? I like that Frank thought of this angle. And yes, youth has always passionate and idealistic and modern one more so because of the world and technology we have.

I am so excited for this now. And the fact it has unwittingly stirred controversy with a simple image...it shows how powerful this story probably could be.

It seems that DC removed from its IG a figure showing Batgirl with a molotov in her hand after several Chinese bots saw this as an allusion to the protests in favor of democracy in Hong Kong ... see SMWW's offspring involved in such a current theme, to see them strive for such important values ​​for the peoples of the world, is to make them do their duty even if they are just fictional characters because that's exactly what we expect from them! Bold: Yes! Quite honestly didn’t expect this exactly but this is very much necessary especially with the children of Superman and Wonder Woman.

Romita said in an interview, there no plans for a follow up yet unless there is a demand. Idk the end was quite open ended and definitely more set up like. There are also unanswered questions and blanks needing to be filled in.

In the post interview above he again stated that GC will irritate extremists from both sides, hinted that Jon, Lara and Carrie will fight for the people and for the right and not for political ideologies ... their ideology will be democracy and freedom .

Wasn’t expecting this kind of coverage...But well...it fits as you pointed out Last Son, it’s going to make some uncomfortable and pissed off. As it should though. These topics should be addressed and art should be shown, not censored.

Love what Grampá said about Jon. The acknowledgement that he is the son of a Kryptonian and an Amazon “two outsiders”. Father is known as the champion of the oppressed, man of action. Mother is a warrior and Ambassador of peace. He wants to change the world to be better just as his parents and fight for freedom. THAT’S what you call keeping the legacy alive while still following one’s own path and being defined as a unique individual.

The fact that Grampá had creative freedom and was able to suggest scenes etc too, gives even more the idea and assurance this just might be impactful and talked about even more, bringing up world wide controversial topics that should be brought up. This is what Superman and Wonder Woman should be delving into as well even more so now! Hoping like everything else, this does start a trend of standing for what’s right and using Superman and Wonder Woman as the characters they should be instead of conforming to a society’s comfort/rules.

Is Jonathan already 6/7? I thought he was younger. The book is supposed to be set 3 years after DKIII, no? 🤔

Exactly! We need Superman and Wonder Woman, too. Not just dialogue but show them in action. Superman/Clark Kent supposed to be a journalist... even though his journalistic integrity and ethics is and has been questionable, if he has to be stuck in this, make it worth it. There’s this question of Superman’s relevance... he is very relevant for this time, it’s just how he is written and what’s being presented with the character recently is not.

Wonder Woman needs back her Ambassador position to balance the warrior.

Guys I don't believe in coincidence, I believe in the stars, Miller started working in GC 4 years ago long before Hong Kong, Greta or anything but form growing in this medium, growing in the mind of visionary genius! His youth are rebellious, questioning, and active (remember Carrie setting up Batmobile in DK?) ... they value freedom and justice. I understand that Lara at first does not have this social conscience as she was raised in an isolationist and frozen society but Jon coming to the world of men so soon and with such superior intellect will engage in the struggle and as a natural leader will face the problems from the front ... as Rafael said is the least expected of the offspring of such wonderful beings.

That goes to show you the power of art that an image not even intended for something was impacting enough it was interpreted in such a way and now is being used as a symbol. And Golden Child sounds like it will be a title that is intrepid in terms of its content and far from the conservative, very safe turn they took for Rebirth. I hope DC do not censor Miller and Grampa. It is Black Label is it suppose to allow creators freedom and deal with more mature and provocative subjects. Miller is one who has always embraced subjects many Dc writers would shy from. I enjoy that about him. Can't wait to read the content now.

Jonathan, Lara and Carrie are suppose to embody the young activists of today. Yes, the world is much more darker, crueler which means there will be acts of violence and aggression. This is what we have talked about in order for these characters to connect to the wider audiences. Make people aware, talk, move for the rights of the people and what’s right for the people. lol and behold, here it is from the children of Superman and Wonder Woman.

I hope not. DC isn’t pulling the cover in its entirety just pulled the tweet. However, they have Lara and Jon and other images that can be used to promote the book. However, they should’ve still stood their ground and not have deleted the initial image anyway.
