Hater! 😝 Well, the audience changed and comics became more grounded and dark, Supes couldn't have started the new trend. 🤔

Superman could have. He didn’t have to turn dark but be aware. Evolving with the times means he doesn’t have to pretend to be some clumsy doofus anymore. He doesn’t have to pretend period. Give him a modern personality with the swagger and confidence he suppose to have as new52 did. Modernize his setting. He can travel the galaxy, have him report/blog about the outside world and otherworldly things.

It’s not new, no, because the modern world has caught up to where he was suppose to lead toward. So if Superman has to be a reporter, they should’ve kept the new52 concept of him having his own blog. Exactly! Superman’s nano tech for the suit was great. Black Panther movie is honestly the best example of how the concepts work in modern times for both Superman and Wonder Woman. Superman and Wonder Woman. DC has the concepts/ideas. They proved to work gaining the attention of the audiences. The problem is not letting the concepts/ideas keep moving forward.

Superman never really had this problem of his world losing its tech (why it should? It's a science-based society) but the focus on the Clark-side of things or put Superman in the real world (DCEU) didn't allowed a more creative use of Kal's alien tech.
The people who make the Marvel movies put a lot of emphasis on technology in all their films, it makes the characters and their world feel "contemporary" and more exciting at the same time.
