I think it's a stretch to say the artist dislikes Power Girl. He'd probably not even bother drawing her at all if he did. And it's just fan art. Fans redesign characters all the time, it doesn't mean they want to fix them or hate them.

As for the costume I like her classic look. The simple white costume. I like the boob window as well as I think it is a silly feature that fits her character, but in 2019 if the boob window is too "problematic" in today's climate then just cover it over in white and leave the costume as it is. It is such an easily identifiable costume that you don't need to change it much from its classic look and I never liked her having a big S on her chest either. So a quick edit to the classic look would look like this:

I actually LIKED the Injustice design they never used. Wish I could find it. It was basically the boob window but as the "S" shield. If she's going to have one, it may as well be put to good use!

Yknow what, I dont think the boob window is actually a problem for most people. Have all women stopped enjoying their own cleavage? Have they stopped wearing low cut shirts for their own satisfaction? No. So why should we take such issue with Karen working what she's got? She's got nice boobs, she likes a little cleavage. Big gods damn deal.

But the same problem can be found with nearly any costume design, from Wonder Woman's shorts being drawn like a thong or her shirt being drawn too tight and small, to Superman's trunks showing off how he really is quite "Super," anything can become taboo if handled improperly but Karen's boob window is no worse than short shorts or anything else. Hell, one of the biggest scandals Marvel had last year (or was it 2017?) involved a Spider-Woman cover that put her in a....awkward.....pose, and she's completely covered from head to toe.

Yeah, I'm with you here. The only people I've seen really outright hate the design are generally those that, well, hate any sort of exposure of any kind. I don't think it's inherently bad to have some characters show more skin and others be clothed top-to-bottom. The only explanation I can't deal with is, well realism. Practicality I get, but when you're calling foul at how they dress when they fly mach 10 I just gotta tilt my head. For a generation obsessed with positive body image and not shaming people for being proud of how they look, we really seem to hate when someone is proud of features considered conventionally attractive. Is it handled poorly by some artists? You flippin' bet. The solution? Don't use those artists. I doubt PG's breasts are the only thing those artists exaggerate with respect to female characters.

To be honest, the most offensive thing I can remember being done with Kara in the last five-to-ten years may just well be how she was handled at the start of the New 52 (Mr. Terrific's maybe-girlfriend who eventually takes his stuff and ditches him). I remember feeling like she was only in that book so the writer can say he totally nailed Karen Starr. She could have been anyone. It felt cheap. That's way more frustrating than, well, her costume (which she wasn't even wearing at the time).

As for the Jamal Campbell design, well it just doesn't look at all like Kara. I miss the boots. Power Girl never looks right without some. Any PG design that's going to stick, in my mind, needs gloves, boots, a half cape and some degree of metallic clasp or pauldron. I like the exposed legs, boob window and belt, sure, but those elements I can live without if the design is great.

I sincerely doubt people aren't buying Power Girl books because of her costume.

Going hard into the Superman design elements, though, is awful. He's her kid cousin. She's her own lady. Much as Nightwing embraces his heritage and moves on to something he chose, so did PG. I'd rather not walk back on that to reinforce "the other Supergirl who sometimes hangs out old guys."

Awesome take on a modern PG IMO!

And yeah... female characters faces and the Injustices games... "Injustice - Where the men are men... and the women too". Although "2" did improved somewhat in that regard from what I could tell from YT clips.

I get that they wanted to keep her around after COIE and they couldn't make her Kryptonian but the Atlantean origin just seemed so unnecessarily complicated. I don't see why they couldn't just make her from a different planet that also circled a red star. Like a Daxamite or something. They could call her Superman's "cousin" ironically or as a joke. Or just make it something she tells people as an explanation for her powers.
