Yeah, the Injustice 2 tie-in comic. Hal was great in it and Guy's ghost/manifestation of Hal's guilt was epic.

    I'm excited for this.

I actually would'nt mind HBO Max used this as basis for thier show.

I'm interested to see what their primary influence for the series will be.

In my opinion Hal is one of those characters where the "60s power fantasy" thing actually works and trying to change it out of fear of being outdated has only proved to lead to worse results.
Hal Jordan is basically the Captain Kirk or Indiana Jones of the DC line. He needs to be bombastic and largely than life.

Dead on right! I couldn't agree more! Hal boldly goes where no one has gone before while making it up as he goes! That's what makes him awesome!

Definitely less ham. Scene chewing among the Earth Lanterns is Guy's department!

I can imagine HBO Max leaning more sci-fi than superhero. The one thing I hope to see is to see the GL franchise infused with a sense of wonder - it's become too mundane that an earthling is called to serve an intergalactic peace-keeping force with aliens from all over the universe. That should be epic and amazing and thrilling! If the show can do that, I will be a happy viewer.

    that's what i'm thinking.

i imagine that the show would feature space ships and locales of alien planets. i imagine that green lantern would do a lot of walking when exploring, and flying and ring construct stuff would be during the action scenes.

I just hope the HBO series purifies the GL franchise from the Ryan Reynolds/2011 film infection.

Not unlike how Spectre sought to purify Hal from the Parallax infection.

If the GLC film is stuck in development hell, then I hope Hal is prominently featured in the HBO series.
