Happy father's day to all the dads on here.

My name is Wally West. I"m the fastest man alive. I"m the Flash.

I wonder if Morrison would ever bring up the death of Hal's father. The series emphasizes on a lot of aspects that showcase what makes Hal who he is and why he always manages to triumph in the face of adversity, and his father's memory usually plays a big part in that.

Darkstars and F-Sharp Bell weren't Silver Age and he managed to squeeze those in early on. Who knows where he will mine from given enough time. I'm still hoping for an Invisible Destroyer appearance.
when was martin jordan introduced into green lantern lore?
was it geoff johns who emphasized hal's connection to his dad?
I might be wrong on this but I'm pretty sure we didn't know his parents' names until Emerald Dawn, which also introduced his dad dying in a crash?
It was interesting, in the silver age we got Hal's brothers, a few other random uncles/relatives, and in the early 80s we got Air Wave but we never heard about his parents. I guess the implication that they were never at the family reunions is that they were probably dead?
It's interesting, in the time between ET and Rebirth, Martin Jordan wasn't really portrayed as being a role model for Hal; quite the opposite, in fact. I think it was really New Frontier that made Martin such a significant part of Hal's backstory (and portrayed him as someone Hal looked up to).
