I know I'm in the minority when I say this, but I will be so glad when morrison leaves the green lantern book (and the dc universe). I've never been a fan of his work, but I was trying to read GL #8 this morning (team up with Ollie) and I couldn't finish it. Just horrible writing, painful dialogue.
Sorry you feel that way. I think it's a solid book and a fresh direction compared to what's been going on with the GL books for the past decade and a half.
Got my The Green Lantern HC a few days ago.
I’ve read two issues thus far.
Great read.
Love the art, love the dialogue, love the storyline, Morrison is going crazy here.
I’m not even familiar with GL mythos pre-Johns era, lol but I’m still enjoying it.
I'm not a Morrison fan and I admit I hate what he did to some of my favorite characters. But I really enjoyed The Green Lantern. This is a GL comic book I've always wanted, exploring the extensive DC universe, reviewing the rich history, analyzing the character in an essential way. It it also a tribute to many Sci-Fi comics. I had enough of that kind of hollow stories begin with a big explosion somewhere, Green Lanterns go there, dealing with bad guys, yelling some slogans like "GL has no fear", then win the fight, end of the story.
We'll get that in September. Whether it's "our" Carol or not, remains to be seen.
