It can go either way, but who knows, maybe Hal could have a better success as a villain in the movies than he did as a hero. At least there would be a place for him and the Parallax design would look neat in live-action.

    (Captain Atom even).
It's always nice to see Geoff Johns touches on Hal too.

At least he would have a presence and the subsequent redemption story worked well in the comics, so it could work well in the movies too.

And naturally that didn't go anywhere.

Maybe the Arrow-verse will correct the egregious error of the original "Crisis" and actually have Hal pop up! (even a cameo would be better than what Hal got in the comic)

Just saw Captain Marvel. At least one pilot was done right in a superhero movie.

To be honest the more I think about it the more I see the similarities between the two characters.

If memory serves (a risky proposition at my advanced age), early on in Geoff Johns' run, Hal's call sign was "Highball". An homage to his drinking problem waaaaaaaaaay back in James Owsley's Emerald Dawn graphic novel?

Interesting, I wasn't aware it was an homage to ED. "Highball" for Hal and "Sapphire" for Carol. Who would've thought about the latter, eh?

Eh, do I have to explain this in every thread? This is the third time.

Umm... It is a common misunderstanding that Hal was drunk driving in Emerald Dawn. If you take a look at the panel Hal actually did not touch his beer. The pitcher was full. Priest, who wrote the script of the first issue, emphasized that in his novel when he rewrote that plot. Hal didn't drink. That's why he was driving while everyone else was drunk. And that's why Hal claimed himself innocent all along.
Isn't it absurd that a man with the strongest willpower in the universe has drinking problem?
BTW, Highball came from Darwyn Cooke's New Frontier, corresponding to Martin's callsign "Flying Martini".
