looks like the lego movie is the chance i'll get to see hal in the big screen for the next couple of years.

and it looks like the trench has a bigger chance of getting a movie soon, more before hal....

Hal is seen as the joke of the DCU, so the only time we'd see him in a theatrical movie is if he's there to be made fun of. And if the Green Lantern Corps movie does get made, Hal would be there only as a way to prop other Lanterns. It's sad but it is what it is.

I made it a point to myself not to get depressed anymore whenever I think of Hal's status in outside media, but once I see his portrayal as a joke character in The Lego Movies and overall mainstream perception in general, suddenly the sky is falling. lol

It wasn't really torture, Hal let Hammond take a peek at his memories in condition that Hammond would give him the information he needed, but Hammond got greedy and started torturing Hal's mind, so Hal fought back. I can see how it comes off as a torture scene without the proper context though.

Oh, yeah, I remember. Wow Hammond is really creepy.

Diana was just using N52 Clark, her real love was Steve.

I'd like to see any kind of exploration of their relationship - for two of the most prominent DC characters, it sucks that the most memorable interaction between them was a fight when they were both acting like A-holes.

I wouldn't want them to be in a relationship though. If I had my druthers, I'd have them be those kind of flirtatious friends who would never go there because they know it'd be a disaster. They would just get along - Hal would turn his schtick up a notch knowing that Diana enjoys taking the piss out of him. It'd be like a friendly sparring thing that they do, but that's it. Diana would understand that Hal is a good and honorable man, rather than an example of toxic masculinity, and Hal would actually be a good and honorable man, rather than an impetuous, arrogant meathead.
