Which made Ben Affleck's portrayal of an opening graying Bruce Wayne in BvS and Justice League look kinda off to me.

His portrayal was supposed to be inspired by TDKR but I know what you mean. I usually don't want my heroes old either. lol

Well, it was pre-Parallax by a few years.

In the late 1980s DC was being published in Action Comics Weekly. Eventually they elected to do a GL "Year One" type of story - Emerald Dawn, which would lead to a new GL series. ED was a big success, but while they wanted to build on it, they also needed to get back to the current time period, which they pegged as being 15 years later. So in the first issue of GL vol. 3, they made regular references to the 15 years since ED, and added the white streaks to make the passage of time clear.

Clark was based upon both Seigel & Shuster (who were straight up 1930s Nerdy Jews) and actor Harold Lloyd.

Bob Kane was a talentless hack who stole credit for doing virtually nothing except being born rich, but he claimed Bruce Wayne was based upon himself, which was true in the sense that they both had a rich daddy. Bob Kane was a horrible &^%*ing person.

I always have a red ring on when it comes to Bob Kane.

He was...not a very nice figure, to put it politely. Especially when it came to sharing Batman's legacy with Bill Finger.

He robbed Bill Finger of any royalties he owed him for co-creating Batman. Finger died penniless, and in an unmarked grave, and Kane still wouldn’t do the right thing.
