What are your favorite stories (or arcs, if such a thing existed then) of DC's earliest years, 1935-1939?

OK I'll take a stab at this. There are over 30 Superman stories from 1938-39, and I don't really remember any of them, aside from the first. There are only 8 Batman stories from the 30s though. I'm a fan of "The Batman Meets Dr. Death" from Detective Comics #29 (and its follow-up in the next issue).
Cosmo, the Phantom of Disguise is my choice for best character!
Okay, I lie.

Anyone ever read any of the early Zatara stories? Have they been reprinted ever anywhere?
OK now I want to read these.

Sandman also debuted during this period.

And these are collected in an Archives edition as well.
I had an old book that collected some of the older Superman stories...They were terrible...Not sure if they went back that far but there were a lot of OLD superman stories...
Sandman and Zatara's appearances in the New York World's Fair seem to be better colored than their appearances in their ongoing titles.
