When he was standing still earlier in the comic it showed what appeared to be Speed Force Apparitions/Ghosts or whatever of Both Barry and Wally behind him. He's an amalgam. This guy and John being buddies is particular to this run because Barry is supposed to forge a friendship with Jon in Snyder's current JL run, and this guy's a scientist type, so he's significantly more Barry than Wally.
