I think the Stranger Things writers must be X-Men fans, or perhaps, specifically Emma? Of course, the main character has mental powers, but something new just came up - S4E1's title is The Hellfire Club!

The very first episode of the show referenced Uncanny X-Men 134, the first appearance of Dark Phoenix. The Duffer Brothers haven't been subtle in their Dark Phoenix Saga allusions, and the internet has been comparing Eleven and Jean Grey since Day One. The title could possibly be hinting that Eleven will eventually become corrupted or evil.
