Yeah, I don't get why Stark wearing obsolete armor would be a "morale booster" either. Especially in-universe, where he probably only wore it for a year or two. I don't know about you, but if I had to use my computer from eight or nine years ago, I wouldn't get my morale boosted by it.

Of course, the real reason the writer is doing this is because he thinks that older readers will get all misty eyed nostalgic for that armor. Speaking as an older reader, I just roll my eyes when I see that obsolete piece of junk trotted out yet again. I see it and I'm just like "siiiigh* whatever.

So he's doing a meta thing by having in-universe people react the way he thinks real-world people will react. And since I'm not reacting that way, it all rings hollow to me.

Anyway, let's get this issue over with so we can see what we are really waiting for: Iron Man 2020.

That's supposed to be Tony's nickname, not the armour's. In fact, it's a reference to his PREVIOUS suit - which was a gold painted version of the original clunky one.
