Kang Dynasty is very underrated. I also think the Gatherers storyline doesn't get a lot of attention either. I thought it was very good.

And they got rid of that drab look for the Vision too.

No doubt, both are very underrated and yes I was so happy to get Viz out of that look.

Harras’ run is so underrated and undeservedly hated on. There were some great stories coming out in those books.

I truly believe the hate for Harras' run came from the jackets of all things. Outside of that the run read pretty solid to me.

I voted the Korvac saga, but it and the Bride of Ultron story-line were the 2 stories that cemented Avengers as my favorite book as a kid. That whole period from about 150-177 (along with Avengers Annual 7/Marvel-Two-in-One Annual 2 which came out in that period) is still my favorite era of Avengers.

I voted the Korvac Saga, couldn't vote for Avengers x X-Men, I absolutely hated Avengers Forever.
I am a Marvel fan preferably cosmic storylines, especially Thanos or Dark Phoenix related, when both the Avengers and the X-Men are involved count me in, loved the original Uncanny Avengers series.
Not a fan of any of the new characters.

I voted Avengers Forever as well. That story drew you in and had some of the best character development for pretty much all of the characters. It's one of the stories that you can read over and over again and not get bored.
Totally agree with everything you said. I'm also hoping Genis-Vell will return soon.

Totally agree. Had I known the meaning of "band the Gigis", I would have voted for either one.

What’s your first Avengers book you ever bought? How large is your collection? Favorite stories/characters?

The first i ever bought was Avengers #1 by Busiek/Perez. Luckily my dad was a huge Avengers fan an owned every previous issue and series so i never had to buy one until he passed away. So my collection is every single issue and no matter what i will keep the collection going for my son to one day takeover. My favorite Avengers are Monica Rambeau, Black Panther, Hawkeye and Wonder Man... In that order.

Storyline wise my faves are Under Siege, Ultron Unlimited, Avengers Forever, Kang Dynasty, Kree/Skrull War and the Korvac Saga.

The first I ever bought off the stands was #144, but has #124 as a hand me down as a hand-me-down from a neighbor. I had also purchased copies of Marvel Triple Action which reprinted early Avengers issues, and #23 (reprinting Avengers #29) was the first Avengers story I ever read, and also got issue #19 (reprinting Avengers vs. Doom form Avengers #25) as part of that hand me down lot from my neighbor. I got Son of Origins for Christmas a year or so after that and got to read Avengers #1 for the first time in that. When I discovered comic shops in high school, Avengers was the first series I collected.

I have a large chunk of the first series in trade now, but I had every issue of the 1st series except #1 and #4 that I had started collecting in high school (circa 1985), but sold off my entire Marvel Silver Age collection (Avengers and other books) between 2001 and 2003 when I moved halfway across the country (it paid for the move, my wedding, and paid off a few student loans/credit cards). I also currently have Marvel Unlimited, so can read stuff from just about any era I choose to now.

    My favorite storylines-

Avengers Annual 7/Marvel Two-in-one Annual 2-The Death of Thanos
    Bride of Ultron
    Korvac Saga
    Celestial Madonna/Kang storyline
    Nefaria trilogy
    Ultron Unlimited
    Busiek's Kang storyline
Avengers Annual 9 (follow up to Iron Man 114?)
    The Kooky Quartet era
intro & origin of the Vision/Ultron storyline

    favorite characters-
as a kid, Vision was my favorite Avenger

as to current faves, my top 10 Avengers from any era (faves as Avengers, not necessarily as characters per se)

    Black Panther (T'Challa)
    Captain America (Steve)
    Hawkeye (Clint)
    Ms/Captain Marvel (Carol)
    Beast (Hank McCoy)
    Vision
    Scarlet Witch (Wanda)
    Thor (Odinson)
    Iron Man (Tony)
    Wasp (Janet)

    and honorable mention to Jarvis
