That is a really good point I hadn't thought of. He very rarely takes that helmet off. It a security blanket underneath huge layers of built up often well justified fears.

I generally thought so far this was a better bridge for Lorna's character from the post Genosha genocide era to today then Blue was. We haven't seen much of her as yet, but the events in this series so far should be bringing up some old PTSD nightmares for her while they attempt to make things right.
