Hands down FF 39-40! The FF loses their powers thanks to Dr. Doom, who uses this opportunity to take over the Baxter Building. Daredevil helps to keep the FF alive and guides them into the Baxter Building, where he single handily takes on Dr. Doom and keeps him busy until Reed uses one of his inventions that bestows their powers on them again. I'm a little biased because Daredevil is my favorite marvel hero, but those two issues were incredibly exciting.

Oof. I guess I should have been a little more specific. I meant beginning after Stan and Jack left, up to when Byrne took over writing and art.

The writing on Fantastic Four: Prodigal Sun#1 would be great for an animated show. The gag with Reed and "scientist don't have weapons" is something I can see working well in a show.

That's the quality I'd want from an FF cartoon.

It honestly felt like an episode of the 2nd season of the 90s cartoon. I liked how campy it was, then I realized Peter David, the writer for the novelization of the Story films, wrote it which explains a lot.

Also, the kids didn’t feel like filler, cannon fodder, or Groot’s second cousin four times removed.

It was campy in the right ways. A nice fun little story and if they ever decided to go this route with the cartoons, but with more serious stories coming up every so often, I'd be happy.

My only problem was that Johnny was pretty much wallpaper, but I get why it happened.

    Fantastic Four #236.
    Terror In A Tiny Town.
It is my all time favorite comic book story.

I was wondering, have we ever seen the fantastic four fight Mysterio? I reckon that could be a great match up

The only one i know is in "Revenge of Sinister Six" where Fantastic Four were part of that story and fought the Sinister Six, alongside Spider-Man,Hulk, Deathlock, Solo and Sleepwalker.

I have issues remembering most of those stories, but Fantastic Four #200 still kicks all kinds of ass. I would take a burger that was just two buns and F4 #200 in-between over the Byrne run.
I don't blind date I make the direct market vibrate

I like all the issues by Len Wein and George Perez.
A way to short run in my opinion.

Really cool that the FF are getting a Grand Design book.

There better be some trippy artwork of the Negative Zone in Grand Design.

I can't express this enough: Read FF #236 ASAP. You won't thank me enough when you do...it is THAT THOROUGHLY SPLENDID an issue/story.
I'll take your word for it.
