Might as well talk about here:

SPOILERS (I guess, does it count as spoilers if it's a retelling?)

I loved almost everything about Grand Design. It was fun and funny to see the insanity of Lee/Kirby's run condensed. I liked some of the new things added to the stories and the backstories on all these concepts and characters.
The only thing I didn't like was the exaggeration of Sue and Namor's relationship. In the original run it was crush she grew out of, in Grand Design he made it that Sue never really loved Reed and just settled for him. I absolutely hate it and it's the only blemish on an otherwise great book.

Not feeling this.

Johnny is way too OK with this random stranger coming along, saying their soulmates and that they're practically married already.

Also that "joke" from Reed doesn't feel like Reed at all. It's just doesn't feel like a joke he'd ever make.

More and more I'm thinking this is going to be my last arc for this run. I'm not enjoying it and only reading it out of obligation.

In defense of Dan Slott,

Johnny's been through a lot in his life, very little of it actually being permanent. Could we accept he's less likely to feel real dread due to a combination of his winning streak and his immaturity?

The joke was very unlike Reed. But I'm gonna throw out the line as a meta comment going against the stuff in Grand Design. One of my criticisms of Slott during his Surfer series was his attempts to do a truly deep and poec book on the Gaiman/Moore level but even though he tries and came up very good stuff, it wasn't what I thought he was aiming for. I'm willing to put this in that category.

They again are seeding Namor back into this. First Grand Design, now this and they even brought him up earlier in the run when Val likes the alien prince. Sue then says nothing occured and the past few writers have gone away from the storyline. The Sue/Namor thung is such a lame thing they keep bringining up.

It needs to stop.
