Welp, at least yÂ’all tried it......thatÂ’s all anyone can ask for.

yes xforce was one of my favorites aside from fallen angels. it would be nice to see her join that book or get a book where she isnt there to be babysitter and shoot lightning. and agreed. when was the last time an xwriter writing a team book had interest in her? because duggan is not cutting it for me. as you've said I'm over the kitty show. the fact that the informational splash page was the most interesting thing regarding storm isnt a good thing.

After reading Marauders #2, It was an okay issue. I didn't hate it, just wasn't that impresses. I might give it one more issue but my original opinion about the book hasn't changed.

More power to those that love it.

Kyss Outside of what little weÂ’ve received from Hickman and since her Pak solo I canÂ’t recall an X-writer thatÂ’s been invested in a black character, let alone Marvel most arguably prolific black and most popular female. I will give a nod to Liu (sheÂ’s more Iceman though) and Willow Wilson when it came to their 4 second tenure on X-Men. The main writers - Aaron, Lemire, Bunn, Bendis, & even Latour (who I think did slightly better), and the nightmare that was Guggs were not invested in Storm. So for me...weÂ’re still in the same boat but just with a better lead writer (Hickman) at the helm. X-Force/X-Men has these elements that are missing in Marauders:

- Challenges equal to the cast - I like the powerful and interesting life forms on Arrako. You can immediately sense the change in the life dynamic for Krakoan mutants with new addition to the island. X-Force had opponents who clearly can’t beat the X-Men flat out but... they are smart, cunning and tactical. They planned a successful invasion massacre that caught our X-Men by surprise and succeeded in “killing” Xavier. No need to write down the cast to make them a threat. Their planning and strategic thinking made that clear. It makes it clear why they would be a credible threat/challenge to the X-Force crew. Now it was a little lighter on the Jean Grey side but I felt her presence and strength with what we got and she was as equally imposing as Wolverine, Beast, or Domino.

- The Cast Felt Like Equals - I want more Jean but I didnÂ’t feel like she needed other cast members to make her feel relevant or impactful

HereÂ’s my issues thus far w/ Marauders:

- For DugganÂ’s alleged talent for team dynamics...why donÂ’t we see it? For those reading are you going to have to pay $25-$35 before we even see a significant role/purpose/panel time for Storm? Does a 3-5 month rotation of cast focus = talented at writing team books? I mean from what I read the cast get along in a way thatÂ’s familial from my 2 min of reading, but that doesnÂ’t = the talent I am seeing in X-Men or X-Force (or even New Mutants- I liked the first issue).

- All the drinking and joking (from what I briefly gleaned) is seems like the focus of this book vs the intrigue and intensity of the other books mentioned. I am all for comedy but after the seriousness of HoX/PoX the clubbing, drinking and tattoos doesnÂ’t make the book feel...serious, intense or as significant as it should.

- GugganÂ’s potrayal of Batroc has him as a challenge that is clearly no match for this cast, let alone two omega mutants. Now if he were to put the team in a power dampening energy field where Bobby and Pyro would be more vulnerable, or skilled fighters would be challenged going against a more skilled fighter then that would make sense. But it felt like Storm and Bobby are written down to make Batroc a challenge for the sake of funny moments/dialogue, and then Guggan Kitty swoops in and solves the issue....?

- Storm agrees to stay and support Kitty for this supposed important role of helping save endangered mutants/transporting Krakoan pharmaceuticals but....thereÂ’s time to club, drink, drink some more, and get tattoos...and Storm is perfectly OK with this vs being the experienced mission focused/business before pleasure style leader...Ok lol. Not here for Gold 2.0.

That is a very interesting take. Although, I don't exactly agree with your whole statement. But I will say Calling Duggan-Guggan is really a Big Reach considering there style of writing is largely different. And that Duggan has done better work than Guggs. This whole thing about people having an issue of Batroc beating Storm, Iceman, Pyro IMO overreacting. With my conversation with Duggan via twitter over future portrayal of Storm in the coming issues and myself being a fan of Duggan's writing I don't see it as that big of an issue.

I will say I don't understand your reasoning, however you made some points that I can say I understand where your coming from.

If you don't mind telling, what did the splash page say? I had this book on my pull list but didn't get it. I wont be supporting this book until they get the color of black people addressed and corrected.

it basically said she was giving hardrives to mutants so that they could stay in contact with her. and that she created clouds to block the us navy from tracking the mauraders via their satellites.

Batroc is a Villain of Captain America.

He's even fought Jane Foster Thor(And Kicked the **** out of her as well). I THINK he's fought Wolverine.. not sure.

The guy is a competent Fighter, he's not powerful but extremely agile. But let's be clear here Batroc did not beat Storm, Iceman, Pyro he just kicked them(which by the way Batroc can kick through Brick, Steel and Metal).
I kinda understand why some see this as a problem, but really? We've seen Storm tagged for less.
