Hickman regulated her to Lightning Lass. And she didn’t really speak much. He background her. That’s exactly what I mean here. And I fear he’ll do it again. But what I will give him props for is having characters fight as a Team. These two issues did show: Storm, Shuri and Susan fight as a Team.

But it’s clear in those issues there are some favorites, but of course it was a FF issue anyway so......

thank you. I wouldn't call these issues a good gauge on if he can write Ororo. As Phoenix said it was a huge serving of lightning lass and her saying "I will call ightning and i will call thunder" was kind cringeworthy.

I would love to see Iron Man in a X-Movie. I love RDJ's portrayal of Tony and would definitely love to see his interactions with the X-Cast. With me saying that, the Hunt for Wolverine book came to mind.

it would be nice to see the avengers interact with the xmen. from what I've been reading though a lot of these actors are saying they will be done with the franchise after end game.

I know . Chris Hemsworth is the only one that has said he'd continue doing Thor if ppl wanted to see it. It irritates me the merger took so damn long because I would have loved to see the X-Men interactions with the current Avengers. But oh well.

I liked the 90s over-the-top storm too dont get me wrong lol. but I dont recall her talking with such theatrics when Claremont wrote her especially in the later stories. if he was writing tas it would seem appropriate but not for 616 at that point of her life.

I like Forge. Always have.
I'm a Storm fan and I liked the pairing. Some of the ire against it may have to do with the way Claremont had him end their relationship.

I asked about the decision to make her bald and Lonnie Nadler replied with a good answer tbh:

"The idea was the in the Age of X-Man everyone is themselves, they are exactly who they want to be when there are no judgements, and are in touch with the most personal aspects of their being. Given that Ororo has Kenyan roots and many women in Africa shave their heads or keep their hair short (for a number of reasons), we thought it made sense for her character. I think a lot of people associate Storm with her white hair and this is her little way of rebelling against that, of defying expectations of who others expect her to be, and being herself. Also, it looks badass".

I am not a fan of the shaved head, (though I like WAAAYYY more than another damn mohawk). As the writer noted all of their are many reasons why African women shave their heads; and all aren't positive. I have a very close friend who immigrated from African and she was forced to shave her hair growing up to attend school. Hair on women was considered a distraction for the students so women head to shave theirs. (The male students didn't, however! The double standard is nuts!) I freely admit I am biased about this topic because of her. The white hair is iconic and part of the reason she is so distinctive. I love the visual of it whipping in the wind as she brings down her righteous fury against any who dare to challenge her!

Going by what Lonnie Nadler says...Storm would have kept her long, platinum hair because it is most certainly part of her personal heritage and as such, she is being her true self, true to her heritage, regardless of what anyone else says or thinks. And she would not feel the need to shave it off simply because they do live in a world where...there are no judgements.
Also...She may have Kenyan roots but Storm Is. Not. Kenyan.

I agree. I HIGHLY doubt Storm would shave herself completely BALD because she believes she's more comfortable that way. Personally I think Storm would be half naked...and NOT in a house knitting. TF???

Thank you for sharing a personal experience as it relates to why some of these women do this. Your insight is why it is important for writers to really do theymir research as opposed to their understanding of things.

Hello all, NeptuneNebula here. Honored to be amongst those who adore the Goddess Hadari Yao in ALL of her glory. Thank you for posting a fuller response regarding Storm now being bald. I'm against it as her hair is a part of her; she uses it in the clouds. One could even say it represented clouds. Thankful to read other's opinions as well. I was reading comments on another subject, the film 12 YEARS A SLAVE and this comment stood out:
I learned about women in slavery when I took a African American history class last semester and I understood why black women are more rebels, even in modern day society. Some women consented to sex with the masters just to get by, also getting their heads shaved to remove their individuality.
I believe two things are happening here: Lonnie is lazy and he's purposefully removing a part of Storms individuality. Her hair has been multiple lengths so styling it another way wouldn't have been an issue but to completely remove her hair is insulting. To blame it on being part African is VERY lazy as there are LOT's of African born women who have hair in multiple styles; bald isn't the main one or the only one.
What Lonnie needs to remember is he will be remembered for this work; not for his intention/deep meaning.

hey there beloved. I made a whole post about why I dont care for them. i cant obviously speak for all the fans but this one here never liked the pairing:

everything ororo was or had ever been, her connection to her powers, the planet was stripped away from her. forge instead of comforting her talks to her with disdain and extreme disregard. and what was most unfortunate about it all is that he knew what he was doing:



they had a love affair based upon proximity but forge would much later verbally assault ororo again in later years because she hesitated at accepting his proposal even though she was going to say yes:



i could never see her with a man who was so callous and so mean-spirited. he then went on to date mystique of all creatures.... yuck!!

this is primarily why I dont like the pairing.
