Coates hasnt expanded on the title character?

    Let's see:

-Tchalla was the one who pushed for a council of wakandan leaders to make decisions that impact the wakandan people; not just one man.
-In doing so tchalla challenged the tradition and norms not only of the royal family but of the ancestral black panthers.
-Has made an effort to address all the missteps of his past including reconciling with his sister after leaving her to die and rekindling his love with his ex wife.
-Bringing together a group of heroes to defeat a God hellbent on destroying wakanda.
-Sending a crew of wakandan explorers into space that would eventually lead to an empire of wakandans that was the most feared and respected in the entire universe
-Been an inspiration to people from the future all while to trying to regain his memory and figure out his place in the world.

I'm not sure how anyone could be reading these titles and conclude that Coates has not expanded on the character. He is trying to show the struggles and duty he has to go through as man/king; I think he has done a terrific job imho.

And then on the flip side you have them praising the Bp movie where:

-Shuri made all of Wakanda's weapons. I mean Tchalla did tinker a bit.
-Shuri was the one who felt they should help the rest of Africa.
-His mother made all the big decisions.
-His cousin was able to outsmart him despite the fact that Tchalla went to all the best schools and is suppose to be well educated
    -Tchalla looked dapper.
-Tchalla got to take his mantle back.
-Tchalla got to stand around and watch everyone else have great fight scenes.

What exactly was so great other than an ensemble cast of black actors made a beautiful movie that made a billion dollars.

You could literally release BP2 with a new Black Panther and don't even have to explain why someone else is wearing the mantle at this point because the first movie did such a good job of showing how replaceable he was. "Tchalla decided to go to America. " I mean who has even been checking for Tchalla himself since the movie. He got more play as a character after Civil War than his own movie where Killmonger, Shuri and others shined.
Don't let anyone else hold the candle that lights the way to your future because only you can sustain the flame.

If he did to Storm half the mess as he's done to Wakanda and to T'Challa and the BP Mythos (again, since the start of his run), you all (myself included because I am a Storm fan...long before I became a T'Challa-BP fan) would be singing a much different tune. It wasn't so long ago when I heard the outcries coming from you lot who were reading X-Men: Gold but...
Clearly, Storm is the be-all and end-all of your lives so...T'Challa, the Black Panther book, Wakanda even The X-Men, they all revolve around her. And once she's treated right, everything else can fall to shytt.

So be it. I truly have a nothing more to say on this topic.

what exactly has coates done to wakanda other than world build, give voice to shuri and the Dora milaje, and show tchalla reconcile with some of the bad decisions he made in the past. this man is still king, fighter, warrior and hero. and ororo is barely even in black panther so you cant blame whatever issues you have with Coates on her. And who on earth said the xmen or wakanda should revolve around her? Her being made a goddess and then her renouncing the title repeatedly makes wakanda revolve around her? Her appearing in this season of BP as a dream makes the title revolve around her? Fans asking writers to not write her as a novice in an title is somehow making the point the xmen should revolve around her? If you are going to come into her thread and make outlandish accusations at least come with better examples than you are currently. Coates is telling a story that Storm fans like and I would totally agree with you of every panel and every issue was devoted to her awesomeness but that has not been even the slightest of case.

excellent point about the movie. what coates is doing in the book some BP fans are being taken to task for but when the exact same thing is done in the movie its praise because it sold billions of dollars. gotcha lol

All i can say to this is check my post history and you'll see your wrong. *shrugs* I go by the story and what is happening or has happened. Not on endless rants about how my fave isn't something they never were. But hey if your fave BP (Tchalla) stories are when he was a street level nobody or how he sat down immediately when Big Daddy Cap told him to sit down in A vs. X instead of going after his wife more power to you. I like this Tchalla better.

    lolz at any rate.

I'm curious what is going to happen in BP tomorrow. expectations are low though. I dont expect anything crazy insane to happen until the issue next month. I am a bit concerned. issue 12 gives me the impression tchalla is doubtful of if he really wants to be with ororo. I wouldn't make sense to me for him to fight so hard to get back to only run away from her. time will tell.

He might feel he can't measure up. I mean if he was feeling inadequate when she was trying to end Doom he might be feeling some kind of way about being with a goddess. Well that's if Coates gives BP fans the Tchalla they love.

chile.... some storm fans getting reprimanded for liking what coates has done with her in the BP books. apparently what is happening to bp in the BP book is the same that happened to storm in xmen gold, yet storm fans think everything centers around her so we dont care that tchalla is being shafted. that is the long short of the matter.
