This is what the definition of plasma is:


Plasma is when the electrons are "freed" from their host atoms for a short time, due to high temperatures. Fire is plasma, it responds to electric fields. Lightning is alsoplasma. When a column of electrons flows from sky to ground, the air that it passes through lights up with energy.

So yes lightning is plasma, fire is as well. How it was applied there looked more like a blast of fire which is why I characterized as such. in either case how it was drawn it didnt look like lightning and that is what I think most of us would agree we need less of.

Both volumes of his BP have been meandering fluff. The man can not write comics to save his life. Sales of the comic have dropped precipitously. 2016's #1 cleared over 253,259 riding on the goodwill of the MCU's Civil War debut. The most recent issue I have data for (June's BP #13) sold just over 21,000.

Low sales dont mean the story being told is bad. For one I hear that his trades sell better because the way he writes lends itself more to that format. Also, BP has never been a book that sold in large quantities over sustained periods even when BP favorite writers wrote hom such as Hudlin.

oh yes agreed. this is probably one of my favorite scenes from the issue because it was very reminiscent of how Claremont would write. the detail in the description of her connection to the elements is one we never see.

I also loved she clearly was colored as a chocolate girl. it was a very strong issue number 1

Agreed. Especially about Storm's complexion. I liked that she was drawn with darker skin and Ibanez did well with the mohawk. I don't like the 80's version but the more recent version grew on me. However, I will always prefer Storm with longer hair.

Water is a heavier medium for her.

I see it this way too. I think she gathered mass amounts of water via wind and propelled it on shore like a “Rogue Wave”. That’s what it looks like to me with the “wind” effects around her in that panel and it makes the most sense to me.

yea no disrespect to anyone who liked the mohawk but I wasnt a great fan either. but I think Ibanez did do a wonderful job with the art. it was very lovely.

yea that was when she was a lot more inexperienced but since then ororo realized controlling water or the ocean was no different to her control of the atmosphere/air:
