Of course people will eat it up because they'll feel smart.
Coates is essentially the Zack Snyder to Black Panther’s Superman at this point. And of course he has a legion of hipster supporters willing to defend every terrible decision he makes till their dying breath because it’s “too smart for us.”

Did the movie age well? I still like it but i don't love it like i did at the time.

Winter Soldier i love (outside of the "inferior falcon" moments). Thor Ragnorak i love (still cracks me up). BP is clearly the worst movie of all time and overrated. And Homecoming and Dr Strange i'll watch parts of it but largely don't care for the other chunks (less so with Homecoming).
I'm too much of a fanboy to be an accurate predictor of quality I think lol

The only thing I roll my eyes at is the pointless spider-man side quest shoe horn. He is pretty cool during the actual fight but the detour to get their kinda slows the movie down for no real reason other than shoe horn .

Still in my top 5-6 though (BP, WS, Ragnorak, IW, CW or sonething like that)

I am going to the reprints and trades as well. I realized in the process of doing this that BP trade sales is kinda silly in away that people need to see to understand.
Interesting thing about comics today is that because of online sales, comics potentially are doing better than the numbers we're seeing based on pre-orders. Not that pre-orders were ever the most accurate guage of how well a book sells to begin with, but in todays marvel only marvel really knows how well a book is doing. And maybe that's a good thing. I sometimes think knowing the sale numbers can actually hurt a books chances of sucess. Not that this applies to BP either way, since his sales numbers are healthy. And really, even if they weren't BP as a franchise is pretty much bullet proof at this point.

    2. T'challa shouts "WORLDSTAR!!!!!" while recording the 3 idiots beating the snot out of each other and puts it on the kymoyo tube for Wakandan children entertainment.

Alos, how did Zemo and Stark get home lol? T'challa was in a one person only jet. Did they ride in the trunk together?
Well Tony came in a jet of his own. T'Challa probably called someone to pick him and Zemo up.

By the end of the movie, Zemo is in custody by the authorites. So it might be fair to assume T'Challa called SHIELD (or whatever military agency does this sort of thing) to pick up Zemo. I'm sure they'd be willing to give Stark a ride too.

Lol It's been embarrassing since 2016 fam. But no more so than his flunkies who flip flop from wanting a reboot and disappearing for months, to flaring up like herp whenever their chick whose been around, comes back around.

That and forced slave-allegories for Afrikans is TNC's m.o. No point in getting caught up in that or the attempted trolling.

Don't forget that cover art of BP and nuMonger fighting epic-like a few issues ago, only for them mf'ers to never meet and still ain't met lol. Pump faking traction in his stories is also his m.o.

Dude does not seem to have a single thought towards celebrating his skinfolk at all.

In a world full of imagination where he can do anything he wanted, he wrote oppression, rape, human trafficking, rebellion, and false gods. Done by his own skin folk

He was even put in time out and given his own universe to play in with a premise of, "Wakanda has a galactic empire. Go have fun!" and... he chose an evil empire and a slave allegory. Done by his own skinfolk

Them not knowing what to do with Vision was pretty wack too lol

So was jobbin' out Rhodey with that much hyped about hammer thing, and then paralyzing him.

If BP wasn't in it idk how much i'd like it outside of the airport scene action. But since he was in it, i like it.

Personally, I find it wack in part because i'm not african-american and neither is T'Challa, so when i think of 'woke afrikan' stuff in a comic book, i think about a story that 1) has fan service to various afrikan cultures/themes/customs and 2) is devoid of western stereotypes of afrika/afrikans (unless to mock the stereotypes) even if the story is cohabited with friendly westerners (Cap, Luke Cage, etc).

If the only "afrikan custom" that can be told by a TNC-type is the oppression by westerners, then BP would be better off either 1) having a woke "Afrikan" writer (of direct West or East African descent) who actually can bring his background of afrikan culture/themes/customs/etc.. or 2) just go with a guy like Hickman, Aaron, Ewing, etc who don't know **** about that Afrikan stuff but can tell a damn good story with the optics of the character.

    alright, updated the sales stuff.

    Coates run...

    Full publication history on record...

Here is how the mini's compared. At least the ones that involved T'challa. Well, "involve" is kinda loose with WoW and Crew but they had his name in the title unlike Killmonger and Shuri I guess

I guess that is the thing that gets me the most. It's like, you have this rare opportunity to tell Great stories about Black people through BP, a nation that was different, you have all these eyes on your book... And you waste it by literally portraying the most advanced nation on earth how the West stereotypically portrays it.. in all 3 seasons. Taking European and colombus analogues and hamfisting them into Wakanda.. for what? To say "Hey look, Wakanda is no different then the rest of the world!" This is following Hickmans positive ending showing Wakanda wanting to lead the rest of the world on a brighter path to the stars.. I mean it's just isht and so much wasted potential. We needed that Coogler or Redjack energy channeled into the comics

isht, gimme narcisse, dude was a noob like Coates but he knew his BP lore, abd had love for Tchalla, Wakanda, and the mythos as a whole and wasn't up on some wannabe "woke" faux deep, and cerebral nonsense and just told a story showing how great Tchalla abd his world is. And his numbers? They STABILIZED. I guarantee you this, had Rise been the first spin off coming after S1? I think it would of been an ongoing. It likely would of stayed in the 25-30k range and gone past 6 issues as it found a following. Unfortunately by the time it came out all the Goodwill was burned Away and people were over it all
