I don't remember the first time I saw Black Panther but I remember the most memorable one. His wedding with Storm. I saw the cover in my book store and thought, oh cool, two popular black characters are married. Then it turns out that's exactly the reason why people don't like that wedding XD

Oh, I didn't remember it happened during the Civil War.

I know the wedding wasn't the first time I saw him because I already knew he's black.

We just had two books with Black Panther in them released yesterday. We have a Black Panther issue in two weeks. Black Panther's Quest will be any day now. There's a whole other place to talk about Aquman.
Folks want that movie (and you will see it when Shazam & Carol's come out) to BURY Black Panther in any and all ways necessary. Because Panther destroyed their ideology about black films.

You want to know the difference between Black Panther and some of those other films?

How much NON movie Black Panther stuff have we seen?

I went to Dollar Tree-they had Black Panther cups.
Target had Black Panther gift wrap.
Along with Black Panther valentines & greet cards.
Meanwhile I saw plenty of Justice League (non-movie stuff) that EXCLUDED Cyborg, WW & Aquaman. Whose left? So aside from movie stuff-you got him and those two being ignored.

That's the difference Marvel is investing in Panther and the other company can't be bothered.
Marvel is giving you stuff with Panther. They are putting their money where their mouths is.

There is no "we can't do this with Panther because we don't want to disrespect (blank)." The mess we saw with guys in DC named Virgil, John, Cassandra and so on. Marvel is NOT caring who gets offended.
They know money is to be made with Panther and are going for it.

Ya. Ain't no denying it. Sid and Marty Krofft messed up more than just me.

That was, in fact, the very example I was thinking of.

It's probably no accident that the downright trippiest Black Panther run (Kirby's) also came out in the '70s.
