When MCU Shuri was a wisecracking techy that was funny and joked with her brother but always had his back.

If they didn't half-ass it it would be better, but they ain't committing to what made MCU Shuri likeable

It is like the people writing Shuri actually didn't watch the movie and just read the wiki spoilers about it and went with the traditional "overshadowed sibling" narrative.

Both Rise and Pantherjack did it 100x better.

They ain't making this movie to showcase a supporting character. They snapped 90% all the new characters just so they could focus on these guys.

We might get a quick run through Wakanda when they go over all the bad **** that happens but she isn't doing anything unless she is involved in the final climax brawl at the end.

They do that in every BP platform to push that narrative. Comics and animation. It becomes true if you say it enough times. Eventually, that is all anyone will remember.

It is true if you say it enough times... and that's why it's probably a good idea for them to have her keep saying it.

If you're going to retcon something, you wanna make it stick. And for better or worse, that does often mean literally ramming it down your throat until it sticks. It's frankly what they should have been doing with T'Challa all those years prior to Priest. Hit her with tech feat after feat and feat until it just sticks and it just becomes second nature.

It can be a bit much... but ultimately do what ya gotta do.
