Hell of an emotional swing there.

Wasnt it explained in BP that T'challa let the CIA/ross keep Zemo in exchange for Ross's silence about T'challa's suit/abilities?
Oh I personally didn't have a problem with it. It's a good character moment for T'Challa. I'm only saying it's the one moment I could complain about.

And yea I forgot about that, which does make sense because Ross didn't know the suit was even made of Vibranium. Having the CIA investigate would have made them find out it was Vibranium weave (only Cap, Sam and Natasha figured it was Vibranium and he never gave them a straight answer) which counts as a technology because making a suit like that takes some pretty high tech.

All Okoye and Nakia were saying was wait until we're in a more private area before you kill Klaue. Or wait until we get home, then have W'Kabi kill Klaue.

There was never a doubt Klaue was gonna die, Erik simply stole the kill after T'Challa killed 99% of Klaue's henchmen... which gave Erik the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to face Klaue while Klaue was at his most vulnerable state ever.

edit - Which was Erik's plan the entire time: gain Klaue's "trust", kill him when he's least suspecting, and use the carcass as a bargaining chip to get his chance to challenge the throne. T'Challa killing all Klaue's men just expedited Erik's plan.

I just feel Aaron's Avengers has evolved into EMH-quality but if BP was in charge and the animation was YJ-quality. So pretty much a superior EMH.

I stay amused reading his book. Someone tell Aaron I said good job.

I expect even more "where the hell did that come from" ignorance from BP's bag of tricks during War of the Realms.

Yup. If you think about it, he wasn't expecting all that to happen and had to improvise.

If the Wakandans hadn't crashed the party and if the buyers hadn't been CIA operatives... what was the most likely outcome afterwards?

Klaue makes a buncha money and thinks Erik is the greatest thing ever... inevitably dropping his guard and allowing Erik the sneak kill. Then Erik and his chick fly to Wakanda to offer the carcass and challenge the throne to be king and queen.

Probably why chick was sayin she was sorry to Erik when Klaue grabbed her... she knew she fukked up

So killing him would of been pointless, he was about to put Vibranium spiked knuckles through klaws face but stopped due to the crowd of of people recording. He still killed Erik because he put the dagger through his chest.

Not to mention, you know, the whole car chase scene where he throws a driver out of the car who gets run over my Shuri, while said car then crashes into a median, or when he force pushed the second car, and then rips the tire off klaws car... Unless people think that those goons simply got boo boos and are actually fine... Tchalla killed in his own movie without hesitation.
Sure T'Challa didn't kill Klaw in front of a crowd of people.... but if that were the ONLY reason he didn't kill Klaw he could have killed Klaw while transporting him back to Wakanda, or killed Klaw once he landed. He chose to spare Klaw, plain and simple, which was obviously a point of contention for some back home.

And yes he did stab Erik while they were in combat ... but he offered to show Erik mercy after he was beaten and the fight was over, which Erik refused.

Point being, there is a pattern developing of T'Challa putting aside vengeance for justice. If we add Tiger Shark from the cartoon, I think we can make an arguement that a pattern is developing across the board. He'll kill if he needs to while in battle... but he won't necessarily do it to a beaten opponent after the fight, even if he might want to. He's no Frank Castle.

It wasn't even personal! It's a great moment for T'Challa and it gives him a character arc, but he should have killed him and not left him with the CIA.

Sparing M'Baku so the Jabari still have a leader makes sense. Momentarily sparing Klaue in front of civilians recording it made sense. Trying to get Killmonger (a guy he just found out is his cousin) made sense. Seeing the child in him at the moment nearing to his death and wanting to keep him alive made sense.

Sparing Zemo? Letting the CIA have him? I don't know about that one.
The point of sparing Zemo was simply to show that he didn't want to become Zemo. He saw what vengeance did to Zemo, what Vengenace was turing into Stark at that moment and what it id to him earlier in the movie. While killing Zemo would be understandable, he didn't like what he saw and frankly wanted to be better than that.

Plus, it frankly was what Zemo wanted anyways.

And in the meta sense, marvel probably doesn't want Zemo dead in case they ever want to got he Masters of Evil route. So ultimately sparring Zemo is multi purpose... it creates a nice character arc for the character, and potentially sets up more with Zemo down the line.

Killing Zemo was what the man wanted. If anything, keeping him alive and denying him the chance to see his family again is better revenge.

I love how this is a testament to how well acted/directed this scene is but also how meme-able it is.
