I don't really like the way Netherrealm Studios writes their stories, but if you asked me I'd honestly love to see them do a Marvel fighting game but only with the characters that count as "street-level" fighters. Black Panther included, alongside characters like Cap, Iron Fist, Shang-Chi, Daredevil, Wolverine, Deadpool, Psylocke, Elektra, Karnak, Spider-Man and so on. And then they could do another one with the higher tier characters like Thor, Captain Marvel, Hercules, Iron Man, Hulk, etc.

I just think the idea of a fighting game based on these characters loses it's feel when you can have Elektra kicking Hulk's ass.

I've read a lot of leaks (I mod on r/marvel, so kinda get stuck seeing leaks lol)

I have barely read the word "black panther" at all.

At absolute best, it seems like another IW situation, if not less so.


There is only one weird/interesting thing that effects Black Panther but it could just be that the people are remembering wrong or missing a plot point. I am not posting that fact here because I don't trust all of you to use spoiler tags discussing it and don't wanan ruin the movie for someone else

The creators of MK do want to make a Marvel game.... maybe this is a soft pitch?

Nether real studios is owned by Warner Brothers, which also owns DC. So while doing something with Marvel wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility (Boon expressed interest), I'm pretty sure the higher ups in both WB and Disney would frown on it.

Infinity War and Endgame are proof...


You gotta nail that 3rd act in a comic book movie. Seems the 3rd act is incredible in Endgame. Overcoming the the just "good" 1st two acts. I thought Infinity War was kind meh until the 3rd act.

Black Panther's 3rd act is just decent to solid. Still a great movie. However, they gotta nail that 3rd act or else it will lose some momentum for people.

he's in it and gets "moments" but he's far from the main focus as the films juggle a lot of characters and plot points.

The third act is crazy. Some people will call this the greatest superhero film ever after seeing it. I think that's a tad kneejerk, but at the moment I get why ppl might say that. Can't really say much more without spoilers.
