Hell, T'Challa isn't even an Avenger. I'm not sure why folks expected him to have a bigger role

"His movie made a lot of money!" isn't good enough. That's how we ended up with a Batman-centric DCEU. TDK made lots and lots of money, and suddenly, Ol' Pointy Ears showed up EVERYWHERE. And they are still doing it! Hell, they actually making a Bat-franchise film MORE Bat-centric by turning it into a Harley Quin vehicle.

The fact of the matter is, this is an Avengers movie, focusing primarily on the originals (who, coincidentally, all managed to escape The Snap™). Anyone expecting a major BP-related subplot is deluding themselves, the same way folks assumed that Avengers would show up in BP's film for more than a cameo, because of Bucky.

Personally, I plan on watching this movie Saturday, whether BP saves the day single-handedly or (as is more likely) merely has a spotlight scene. I'm good either way.

I mean given what was said in interviews, people should of known better then to think that Tchalla would get more shine. They filmed back to back and already expressed they wished they didn't given BPs success.. what other proof was needed

Sometimes hardcore fans lack common sense when sucked up into their fandom.

And then you have the unfans just stirring up shit.

hey man not everyone hasn't seen the movie just be careful if you're getting into spoiler territory without a spoiler tag.

BP's role and impact is proportional to Infinity War in terms of screentime etc, but people should enjoy this film a little more. At least BP wasn't heavily marketed for this film like he was in the last one. The Infinity War trailers gave us half the BP scenes.

I suggest just going in for the 3-hour event and enjoying the spectacle with some snacks. If you go in nitpicky there is a bit you could critique and I am expecting a very long CinemaSins video in a few weeks.

that's all I'll say till more people have seen the film I don't want to spoil anything. Also just FYI there is an Endgame spoiler thread up in the TV/Film subforum.

Exactly, spoiler tags exist for a reason.

Don't be that person. Especially when it has nothing to do with BP. There are Thor, Cap, and Endgame threads

Man, I'm going to be avoiding the forum for the next few days.

Between the Heroes In Crisis meltdowns and rampant Avengers spoilers this entire forum is going to be an issue.
    Pull List:

Marvel Comics: Venom, X-Men, Black Panther, Captain America, Eternals, Warhammer 40000.
    DC Comics: The Last God

OMW, Coates actually advanced the plot in BP11

    Bout damn time.

He went back to his roots of just talking the whole issue lol

One thing that does bother me:

    spoilers:
t'challa is not Eden's king, Eden is not Wakandan.
    end of spoilers

Hickman on writing a solo book:

Your superhero work has almost exclusively involved team series as opposed to books focusing on individuals. Is there a reason that you like working with big casts and are there any Marvel characters that you’d consider writing a solo series for?

I'd very much like to do a single protagonist book. In fact, I'll probably do that next. As for what it'll be, I dunno, there's some Black Panther stuff I was thinking about doing, I have a Captain Marvel story, I like Nova, I like Doctor Strange. We'll see.

He'd nail it, as long as he promises Doom isn't involved

Hickman, JA currently and of course Redjack would be my 3 top choices for writing a BP solo right now.

As for Doom, I wish someone would have the balls to actually give T'Challa a clear cut decisive win over Doom. No BS, no speeches, no thanks for teaching me a lesson or you fell for my plan while I lay broken at your feet. Give me a nice T'Challa Dagger in chestesque moment. That's what I want. It's been a LONG TIME coming

I would say no to Hickman. No panther tears, no more empty threats, and no T'Chaka ain't sh!t scenes, please.
