Given the preview shown for WotR, I see that there is a very good opportunity for JA to write a SWaD part two that is unfortunately going to be missed

Throw the whole issue out, its trash. Leave Coates Tchalla without his memory. It's better that way.

I thought the issue made good use of continuity, by tying together Maeberry, Hickman, and his own run together to help explain how we got here. Getting back from here will be the tricky part.

Halfway properly sorted at least. How T'Challa got to this point makes good enough sense, and it tackles a story threat that BP writers frankly should have touched on decades ago. It's almost suprising it took someone this long to have T'Challa try what he was doing here.

Again though, the tougher part will be sorting things back into the proper timeline.

    spoilers:
There are some info pages at the end. One makes it seem like Bashenga has been userped and the description for the Desturi and FF meeting seems to be wrong
    end of spoilers

What should they have touched on decades ago?

    spoilers:
Wakandans going into space searching for the source of vibranium. They have rocks from outer space, and no writer prior to this ever decided to have T'Challa go into space to search for the source and find out it's orign. To me at least, it would have been an obvious story to tell. BP mythos is almost lucky no one else bothered to pick up the ball and tell that story either. Not that we're actually discovering the source or anything, but having T'Challa bothering to look is a very logical story to tell.
    end of spoilers

It is. Completley messed up the damn initial issue T'challa appeared in.

t'challa sent the damn ship the pick up the F4 lol. They didn't discover **** on "accident." How do you mess something like that up.

And it looks like we see what Coates contribution ot Rise of the BP was. Once again using a side book her "cowrote" to fill in gaps for his own stories. Because, between all the meandering and deconstruction and non moving year long plots, He still can't fit all the crap he wants to fit in there. Quite an amazing accomplishment. Just "co-write" side books like WoW and Rise and Crew to fit in side plots for your own book. Bast Almighty.

I think what makes Rise cool is that it actually does tie into other books. We're seeing it reflected both in the main BP book and in Killmonger. Rise actually "mattered."
