Yeah, it was a bold choice to destroy the HSH and I wonder if they'll walk that back at some point. It's not strictly necessary now, but it could be an interesting plot point depending on the story of Black Panther 2.

I would imagine the only reason to destroy it would be to set up a story where they NEED to get it back. Maybe T'Challa is somehow depowered down the line and he needs to find it, or maybe Shuri needs it to become Black Panther.

Otherwise in a practical sense it's not that HUGE a deal. It's a theoreticaly problem for future generations of Black Panthers, but as far as making the movies we'll never see the next generation beyond T'Challa, so it really doesn't matter.

Or maybe they can sort of expand the uses of the heart shaped herb. Under Hudlin, a heart shaped herb salad apparently had the potential to cure Spider-Man. It obviusly didn't work, but in T'Challa's mind it was worth a shot.

They can walk it back as easy or as hard as they want it to be

Yeah, I am glad the movie made it a big deal and a ceremony like McGregor instead of just eating it like an apple ala Priest or a salad ala Hudlin lol

I would love it if the first scene in BP2 was T'challa searching for the location it grows in the wild ala the trials in the comics.

I would enjoy it if the movies got kinda mythological/weird with it. Instead of a pride of Panthers guarding it when he finds it, it is Bast herself, challenging T'challa philosophy and strength and as she fades away, mentions there is another being infiltrating Wakanda under his very nose (MEPHISTO!!! GIVE ME MEPHISTO!!! lol)

Given Hulu is getting both Ghost Rider and Hellstrom TV shows, I'll wager the TV side of things has dibs on Mephisto. Though it's a shared universe, so in theory he could do all of the above.
