Classic cover art by Gil Kane and Frank Giacoia from Jungle Action #10 (July, 1974):
I'm not holding my breath. T'Challa will likely get chumped in favor of another character, the most likely candidate being Storm, since that's who he actually wants to write and gets the best showings in the series.
Then there's Zenzi and Tetu. Their thing was basically no one man and a democratically ruled Wakanda they got that in the end. Zenzi ended up working with Nazi's which should go against everything she and Tetu believes in and now they're going to serve an emperor that slaved entire galaxies who wants to add Wakanda Prime to it.
So Nazi's and slavers are a better option than T'Challa? What are Zenzi's motivations again? It was Killmonger and the Nigandans that experimented on her and left her for dead. At least Tetu's made since but not anymore.
Why is it T'Challa's decision to decide what needs to be done with the Djhalia? What happened to no one man and why is he giving orders if his position is ceremonial? S1 essentially pointless now since nothing that came from it really matters anymore.

It's easier to buy them serving the emperor since as as far as they know, this was their former teacher whom they based their entire belief system on.
That aside, considering that under T'Challa Tetu at least was behind bars in the short term serving anyone other than T'Challa serves his interests better.
T'challa is gone worrying about memories of future people
Wakanda defends themselves against a space invasion from an advanced civilization that was brought to Wakanda BY T'challa... without T'challa.
T'challa continues to be utterly unimportant to the book. The book should logically conclude that Wakanda is much better off without T'challa right? Anything else would be an asspull at this point.
The "best" thing T'challa did was have a magic stick that keeps Storm around to defend Wakanda every once in awhile.

This is one of those instances where we see T'Challa isn't just a king, but a super hero. A king might decide not to endanger their kingdom by bringing their enemies to their door. But a super hero would if it meant defeating an evil empire and serving the greater good. Not unlike AvX and Hickmans New Avengers, T'Challa is placing Wakanda at some degree of risk in order to use it as a tool to serve the greater good. Because that's what heroes do.
Shuri understandably is against it, demonstrating more of a "Wakanda first" mentality. And that's entirely justifiable. They are risking the newfound peace Wakanda is enjoying (which the book DOES credit to T'Challa), to help a bunch of people in outer space they don't even know.
It's not an easy call... but when you're an Avenger, that's what you do.
This would have been a perfect opportunity to show the might of Wakanda's tech and defense with T'challa leading the battle strategy. We rarely get a chance to see Wakanda flex and you would think the solo book during a space invasion by a future empire would be a great chance for it.
But I mean, riding a winged panther in some memory plane and speaking 2 pages is cool too
