I've seen so many people complaining about how TDK deserved an Oscar nod because it was critically acclaimed. So was Black Panther.

TDK was a box office smash. Black Panther: Score Board.

Honestly, I've said it for years, I really don't think TDK was a good movie. Maybe I'm wrong, or don't know what I'm talking about.

I do know that my favorite superhero movie out performed TDK and actually got a nomination though, so maybe I know more than I think.

TDK was critically acclaimed, box office hit, well out together movie, as were other movies, the difference though between those and Black Panther? BP was all that AND a cultural event all in itself. Something non of those other movies can boast. It has all this success because it IS THAT DAMN GOOD OF A MOVIE. Something the haters don't want to admit.

Dark Knight was overrated.

Fight scenes were meh, main protagonist was boring and overshadowed by the primary villain, secondary villain was underutilized, 3rd act was a jumbled mess saved only because it had one memorable line at the end, etc.

If that sounds like what detractors say about Black Panther, despite their beloeved Dark Knight having those same issues, then it's probably purely coincidental.

Oh and ppl only elevate Dark Knight because of the cultural impact of a super serious superhero movie + heath ledger dying.
