Jean Grey: Marvel Girl, Phoenix Appreciation 2019

Partly Jean has nothing outside the green dress that is hits all 3 notes - uniquely hers, iconic, and not Phoenix related. So any attempt to call back to well known costumes is either the green dress or her 90's suit. And most people seem to dislike her 90's suit. Scott's suit is a hybrid of his Bendis suit with his iconic color and visor changing it (almost a hybrid of Revolution/Astonishing with 90's colors), and Wolverine's looks like his standard for the most part as well.

'90s suit is definetely more popular than Marvel Girl's. Like, it's not my favorite and it has it's haters, but I don't even think it's a competition.

and even more people dislike the Marvel Girl dress. Besides she didnt need an old suit. She could have continued to use the Red suit or get a new look like Cyclops has which draws in elements from old looks

Even with the spats though he knew to make it short. I'm telling you guys, it looks bad because artists keep drawing the dress too long and loose.

I can only tell what you can from the image.

The colored one looks like an actual bodysuit with marvel girl/Phoenix inspirations.

The black and white images have a couple of pictures with skirts that look like an updated marvel girl costume- and I would have loved to have seen something more like that instead of the current (old) one.

Well different people have different tastes; that’s not surprising.

I’m just glad costume is the main concern a lot of people have right now. It’s a good problem to have compared to other things we could be dealing with, like a character being dead or in limbo

Screw the ugly MG dress. Modern Jean deserves this at the very minimum! Artist JasRic is a genius!

I like the 90s costume, but the blue/yellow is more of the X-Men's colors and is more generic than her signature green and yellow. I understand why they would want to go with something like the Marvel Girl costume instead of the more iconic 90s uniform. They could have just kept the Red look, but that costume had problems as well.

I dont see why they couldnt have tweaked the Red or 90s costume. They took Cyclop's revolution costume, gave it a new color scheme and head piece. Its an old costume with a new design. The same could have been done with Jean
