Except he’s not significantly more powerful than everyone. Jean herself as undergone power upgrades.
So have certain other XMen.
Nate was using the life seed to do what he did.
Even there the telepaths (including Jean) were able to separate him from Legion, using Jean’s strategy.
All this after Jean went out of her way to avoid fighting him.
And just the images of what she did as Phoenix nearly shut Nate down.
Historically, Nate has been at or beyond Phoenix level. At his strongest he was a reality breaker on the scale of Scarlet Witch or Franklin Richards. Then they nerfed him several times, but he seems to be near his full power in this event (hence deleting stuff from around the globe with a thought).
My headcanon is
Phoenix Jean > X-man > Normal Jean
I mean there should be a reason why sinister made him instead of just cloning Jean.
Anyone know what these books are about / who is in them?
Also, sorry to nag, but when Jean showed Nate her memories - what are they of? I’ve followed Jean since early 80sand have all bsck stories, but i just cant make out what she is showing him. Its a shame as it is a powerful moment., and I want to appreciate it more!

interesting..
we can be heroes, just for one day
I think Jean was showing Nate the pain he had caused and she was relating to it by discussing what she did when she was one with Phoenix. Which I liked because it shown she had agency as the Phoenix (which some of us recently argued with Rosenberg about on twitter.. since he likes Jean and Phoenix as separate and seemed to think Jean was controlled by it for years, etc).
Others interpreted the scene as Jean making Nate feel the pain that she had caused when she was Phoenix.
Either way she made him feel the pain of others.
I don't think we were supposed to make out all the figures in the rendering.
