Given the controversy regarding the casting of light-skinned actresses to play superhero-dom's most significant African black heroine, I say go big or go home.
Is she in that star trek like episode in black mirror?

The Bishop connection won't last because Jean Grey was brought back specifically to be with Cyclops. The other side of that coin is Emma Frost being conveniently ejected.

As far as the new movies go: I'd prefer if it they would bring over the majority of the existing cast, save for Storm. Time to get a Storm that looks the part.
Sexism has been present on Jean journey since the beginning, all that crap about Xavier puting mental blocks on her to limit her powers.
I was not surprised on the backlash from the romance with Bishop, funnny see all the double standarts for Jean and Scott

I really think X-men movies have to start fresh.

I'm against the idea, only because it perpetuates the concept of the X-men playing secondhand to the Avengers. Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor will most likely never be X-men, so it's odd to continually have the biggest X-men become Avengers. I would think the X-men being on the same level as the Avengers should be the end goal, not X-men graduating to the Avengers. To me, it defeats the purpose of having the X-men represent minorities.

In fairness, the reason we'll never see Stark, Rogers, or Odinson with the X-Men is because they aren't mutants. The few mutants that the Avengers do have tend to move between them and the X-Men fairly often.

True, but there are non mutants with the X-men. Carol Danvers was with the X-men for a while.

Yeah, but I can't think of anyone significant since then. Considering the tones of AvX and onward, this concept doesn't seem as if it might change.

I could EASILY see Blade join the X-Men for a period of time.

    Hulk too.

I'd love to see that. The X-men could even create a team that focuses on the supernatural.

Carol went to the X-Men because the Avengers literally allowed her to leave the planet with her rapist.

If anyone got it worse than Jean, it'd have to be her.

Though in all seriousness, I'd love for non mutant characters to join the X-men out of pure choice. It just doesn't seem to be a narrative that's followed through with.

And after giving him birth in our dimension no less. To be fair, that was only 3 Avengers, Thor, Iron Man and Hawkeye who did that, the rest were busy figthing dinasours and medieval knigths to notice (reality was kind of breaking apart at the time), still i'm gratefull that Claremont fixed that.

Ellie Bamber or my absolute favorite Freya Mavor should play Jean Grey.
