Thank you for the context. Mosaic is also not in continuity anyway.

The girls use John Stewart for what is clearly alluded to as some kind of sexual release.

John Stewart is completely complicit with it.

    The girls are underage looking.

John ends the issue hand in hand with the little girl looking forward to the "distraction".

The story was written by an admitted known pedophile.

This is at the least a very thinly veiled metaphor.

Is it coincidence they appear as little girls? I don't believe so.

So, he was the first Green Lantern to say, No, forget it, Im not wearing a mask. You know, Im not ashamed to be a Green Lantern; Im not ashamed of being John Stewart,' so we thought that was a really important part of the John Stewart version of Green Lantern. But, just purely for visual sake, we thought we needed to give him some kind of visual gimmick for his close-ups, so we came up with the idea that hes been a Green Lantern for so long that the energy of the Green Lantern has kind of infused his entire being, so that its even in his bloodstream and it glows out of his eyes and it certainly makes an interesting visual.
you would think that with the human power ring situation they would be MORE likely to use the green eyes. his heart is a power battery, he has willpower literally pumping through his veins!

yes the optics are weird, and I also pointed out the coding of the scenes, but based on the dialog it's a stretch to say the "distraction" is anything other than the murder game they play. again, I agree there's very likely some coding to the game, the way they compliment him and the fact that they go "ohjohnny...oh johnny" when murdering him could easily be suggestive of sexual coding or you could even go as far as to say metaphor (while i wouldn't because I don't think it's blatant enough to be considered metaphor but I wouldn't fully disagree either), and it definitely is intentional that they are little girls, however, where it gets iffy is intent. We very much could be ascribing more pedophilic connotations because we are aware of the writer's crimes. Until you made the connection, I figured the choice of making them little girls who "play" by "murder" was supposed to be a play on the dichotomy of psychotic maliciousness and perceived innocence, like it usually is in media and it very easily could have been the reasoning. I don't mean to come off like I'm defending a pedophile (not gonna lie, I don't feel comfortable with even the perception of that) but I'm just saying there are many ways of looking at it and while i can agree that there is clearly some coding going on, what i can't say it's all pedophilic in nature or that's it's necessarily the aim of the messaging that's going on here. to be honest, I kinda would be more comfortable if there were a different more overtly insidious scene that I could agree is just blatant pedophilia and we can all be disappointed together.

Whether it's Katma or whomever, I definitely like John in a committed relationship.

It isn't sexual in nature, yet the little girls are shown having an orgasmic experience, literally with the dialogue of "Oh, Johnny. Oh"? At the end of the comic, the little girls say they're "in the mood again". The sexual overtones are beyond heavy. I suppose people can come to their own conclusions about this, but personally, I think anyone who doesn't see the sexual nature of all of this, and taking into account that it was written by an admitted pedophile is--again--blinding themselves to something they don't want to see, because it interrupts the fantasy (it would link a character they like with pedophilia). It would be stretching coincidence WAAAY too far for me. Remember, this is a man who uploaded child pornography to Youtube. Putting what he could get away with in a comic wouldn't be a stretch at all.

Clearly the writer could not totally overtly put John Stewart having sex with little girls in the comic. He would have been caught. From my perspective, he did about as good as he could without getting caught, though. I admit I never noticed this before, but knowing much more about Gerard Jones than I did before, it was plain as day when I read this issue yesterday. And no, I was not looking for something. I saw it because it was there.

what you are arguing, assuming you were right, isn't overtones it's undertones and coding at best. refer to my previous post, my answer is still the same, you're just not making a compelling enough case to warrant further debate and I'm not gonna still here and continue to argue further because, honestly, the whole pedophilia talk makes me uncomfortable. if you want to perceive John as a pedophile that's fine but these particular scenes don't really support that; at the least, not as strongly as you are suggesting. it's like all those conspiracy theories about the government, just because we know the government is shady doesn't mean we should believe every theory.

edit: that is not to say the pedo in question is in the clear but still, it's more of an implication without clarity whether it was intentional or even a conscious choice.

Nuff said. This story isn't even in continuity and nothing there has any deeper implications for John as a character. It has had zero implications on what any other creator has done with him.

Should we tear down Superman and Wonder Woman because Eddie Berganza worked on them?

I'm not tearing down John Stewart. I just acknowledged that John Stewart happily and willingly goes off to help little girls have orgasms in a story written by a pedophile. That's...literally what happens in the story. I am not embellishing anything with what I just said there. Don't blame me for that. I didn't write it.

If there were actually orgasms in the story, people would have mentioned it long before now. You're reading into it now based on what you now know about the writer.

Again, should we also be doing this with Superman and Wonder Woman because of the people who worked on their stories? Are we going to start reading pedophilia subtext into Batman as well?

Are we going to talk about the stories in which a fourteen year old comes onto Hal before they eventually get together?

    Or are you being selective?

One of the things great about John is that he's not a human garden tool. He gives his heart when he enters a relationship. It is just one of the things that separate him from the other lady-killer human male lanterns.
