Magick has the easiest out IMO. Just redirect her anger towards the fact that her substitute brother basically commited suicide (as far as she knew) at the end of Death of X without ever saying goodbye. To be honest, I hope that part gets brought up when they meet again. They were fun together under Bendis, and I miss that.

To be fair, past a certain point Scott's diplomatic skills suffer and I love him for that. Let Jean waste time with the politicians and diplomats. When (I mean if) she fails, Scott will be around for Plan 2.

What would an MCU AvX look like?

Either a 3-hour slugfest or a 2-parter like Infinity War/Endgame. With Cap as the hero and Scott as the misguided-but-good-intentioned Magneto-style anti-hero.

Honestly, if/when Marvel Studios does AvX, I hope they scrap the plot of the comics version entirely, and come up with an original story. A villain manipulates the Avengers and the X-Men into fighting each other followed by the two teams working together to take the villain down. Or something. Anything but the character derailing shitshow that was the comics version.

I need it to be Sam so Brevoort can remember that the character exists and Spencer can collect tons of royalty checks. And after seeing those BP box office numbers, Feige should need it to be Sam, too.

Probably though the genocidal queen denies this although she did the same with Stark on a smaller scale.

But the problem is still Scott's friends one thing is for inhumans to call him Hitler and another completely different is for the X-men to believe it and to confirm the story when they were present at the event.

Anyway maybe it's better to ignore any writer should be required to clear the mess that another left behind hurting the story he wants to tell by using the character but readers remember and some things are not easy to erase even after years.

There's a case to be made that IvX is THE worst event in Marvel. Made no sense at the time, made less sense when they tried to rationalize it, explanations made it worse, talks with the editor made it MUCH worse ("peanut allergy"), and overall sits like a poisonous toad on top of the Marvel continuity chart.
