I don't know about everyone else but they need to give Scott a different hook on coming back than the usual great leader or loving Jean. I'd like to see him and Cable rescue Rachel early then focus on being a father and mentor to his 2 kids. I think you can have him lead but focus on his kids to give a new view of him to readers.

I'd like to see him interact more with his kids and be a real father to them, too. And I think a good writer can find room for that. But his leadership skills are a large part of his awesomeness, and I also think it's part of why there's so much excitement for his return. The X-Men are getting their one TRUE leader back. Build on that foundation, instead of knocking it down.

when i was reading rosenberg's astonishing run, i felt that Alex was being forced into a role that was actually meant for Scott. even the things he said made me think of Scott. Scott not being a leader only works on a book with concepts on a higher level than the X-Books have provided these last years. Like Aaron has been doing in the Avengers, when Steve, Tony and Thor stepped down so T'Challa could lead. But that only really works because Marvel put some actual work with them in a reasonable time before starting the current run. I'd say Cyclops needs something on that level before he steps down for someone, after all the crap Marvel put him through these past years.

And I think it's not a secret that, for me, if someone has to succeed Scott, it HAS to be Sunspot.
