Scott Summers: Cyclops Appreciation 2019

I agree. Jim Lee's design is still the best, in my opinion. But his Astonishing X-Men look was right up there, in my opinion. I think Cyclops is one of those characters who doesn't need an overly-elaborate costume. If you look back on his history, his style hasn't really deviated that much, especially compared to others like Angel, Jean Grey, and Beast. He has a template and it works for him. His upcoming look in Hickman's run looks more like his All-New, All-Different era combined with some Astonishing elements. Again, it fits his style and I think that's good for him.

Yeah, it’s very All-New, but Hickman also said he’s giving artists the freedom to draw whatever costume they want so maybe we’ll see some variety in Cyke’s costumes.

I noticed the "Revolutionary" isn't there.

I get the impression they are trying to "forget" that phase of the character. It's a pity, cos his character growth during the 2000s was remarkable.

I get the impression they are trying to "forget" that phase of the character. It's a pity, cos his character growth during the 2000s was remarkable.

JDW would probably want that, because of him "not being a hero", and of course Marvel hates he made the Avengers (and the editors) look like dicks in AvX in the eyes of most of the readers. However, Hickman was clearly a fan, and I imagine we'll have a version that is a lot closer to it.

Astonishing or Utopia suit. The Utopia costume is really just a minor refinement of the Astonishing costume in the end, but I think it's the Astonishing suit since the Utopia duds have more piping on the right shoulder.

Its a variant and the artists typically have alot more freedom with these. I doubt JDW or the editors dictated which costume the artist had to draw

Big fan of Scott in brown leather to compliment his blue and yellow costume. Reminds me of Jeen's bomber jacket which looked great, too. I need him in leather again!
