Cyclops has a harem of hetero/bisexual men & women with a well-documented history of getting hilariously pissy/passive-aggressive whenever he gets close to anyone. Given the seriously hardcore competition that rose during the original Jean Grey's absence, I'm not even sure either iteration of Jeansus qualify as pack leader anymore.
Acknowledgement, of course. Credit, meh.
Of course, at Wolverine's side every other crush seems small.
He has had that for a while: Lee Forrester. It didn't last long…
Scott yearns for acceptance: maybe he needs someone as damaged as he is. (For those who don't look human, Utopia, Xavier's school, Genosha… are refuges.)
Still Jean wasn't so damaged… So maybe not damaged but someone just not normal or perfect.
That one issue of Champions was the only time where I read Scott Summers truly returned. He was a leader that had choices to make, rallied his tired troops, and gave them the help needed to push through.
Uncanny X-Men on the other hand reads like twisted fan fiction. Not sure if I want to read UXM 21. How's Scott doing? Still no confidence/no take charge out of character?
He really didn’t have much to say or do in #21. He barely spoke a word to Emma because so much was happening and needed to be done.
They tried to get him to make an important decision (funny how they acknowledge that he’s not leader anymore, but then immediately turn to him for he next move, lol), but he said just vote on it.
